Instead of using all kind of pills resort to a more natural diet.
Minimize the foods with added sugar and colorants, as well as artificial taste enhancement.
Drink water instead of soft drinks, or drink tea which can be made with several natural tastes.

Use meat that is not processed by the shop to look better or weigh more, do not buy it spiced or marinated you can use your own.

I am in no way a health freak, however we do try to use pure and natural products whenever possible.

No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

I wonder if kefir fits that profile.. ;)  We have started making it at home.

Yes, it does. Studies show it also helps with weight loss as well.

Kefir absolutely fits the profile. My wife drinks it and I sometimes drink it. It's not popular in America but it can be found in grocery stores, usually near the organic section.

I've been trying to eat less and more healthy. My metabolism is slowing down and my body can't filter all the good tasting/bad for the body stuff like it used to. I just don't like the scare tactics my MIL is using to get me to eat better. I can figure it out since I want to maintain my girly figure.

Today I went and got a massage and my teeth cleaned. This is the program my MIL had for me today. Tomorrow will be my last full day in Ivano Frankivsk and I'll fly onward to Kiev and stay there for a day and then back to America.

I'm here in Kiev and at the Hotel Ukraine overlooking Maiden Square. There is a tribute and photos of all who died during the last revolution along the street next to the hotel. My MIL cried while walking past at all who died. Lots of emotion for her. The morning dew formed some big drops on the photos of some of the faces of those who died to make it look like they are crying. She was in a shop and the shop attendant was talking to her in Russian and she said she doesn't understand and walked out. She understands what they are saying but she wants the people in her country to speak their language first and she is upset Russia invaded Ukraine.

Lots of beautiful ladies walking around here. I don't know how some of you guys do it when you come to the FSU for one lady and it doesn't work out and don't have a plan B. You choose to look at buildings or cry in your hotel room and overlook all the other opportunity walking around. I remember a time I was getting 3 phone numbers a day and could get more if I worked hard enough but one can only date so many ladies per day. You can have a conversation with a lady on the street or ask to sit down with a lady at a cafe and have a conversation. So if things don't work out with the lady(s) you're visiting, try to meet ladies in town.

You're right, I got maidens on my mind. It's been a lonely 2 1/2 weeks for me. I'll be glad to be home tomorrow.

My MIL cried while walking past at all who died. Lots of emotion for her.

Very understandable. I recall the open-air night funerals when thousands would attend, singing the traditional Orthodox burial hymns. Very moving.

While I do not disagree one ounce with your proactive advice for guys whose Plan A dissipated, the sights and sounds are actually a very valuable tool for a guy who is getting to know the land where his future wife grew up. In my estimation, that alone would be worth a first trip before evening starting the dating process.

It's always best to see the sights with a pretty woman on your arm. It doesn't take much to make friends by talking to ladies outside or in a café and a lady can help a guy quickly find the best sights in town to see.

I know guys here have said there will be no plan B but they will look at sights if things don't work out with the lady they're visiting. It's easy to say before a trip but when they get dumped, their attitude changes and it's hard to be happy the rest of the trip. The best way to forget about a woman that just dumped you is to get another woman.

Looking back at my 2 1/2 weeks in Ukraine, it is the first time I've ever been in the FSU and not seen a cop pull someone over and get a bribe. I have faith in the cops in Ukraine but the rest of the government needs an overhaul.

My wife told me when we first met she had relatives living in America. Some in NY and some in the Seattle area. She and her mother, which is visiting, decided to go look for them. They spoke by phone to the family in NY but they had lost contact with my MIL's cousin and her family living in the Seattle area when they left Ukraine. They decided to ask around. Seattle and the suburbs have 10's of thousands of FSU people living here and they have their own churches and food markets. My wife and her mother started their search at the closest Eastern European food market to where we live and by luck, the clerk knew the name and number of my MIL's cousin. Come to find out, my MIL's cousin lives 5 minutes away from us. It's a small world.

Seems pretty high.  Where are your statistics from?

Why so many would congregate in Western Washington?

The clear sunny weather?

ML, if you've never been to the Pacific Northwest, I can assure you that it's an area that's very easy to fall in love with. June, July, and August are absolutely idealic weather and while it can be cloudy and rainy the rest of the year, it's also very temperate. I love it up there. There's so much to do and many beautiful places to see.

My statistics come from a Russian/ Ukrainian website located in the Pacific Northwest. It was a site used to provide ethnic Russian/ Ukrainians with info about cultural events, and other related topics. It was about 4 years ago so I imagine that that number would be higher.

Article below in 2013 mention hundreds of thousands of FSU people living in Washington. Western Washington is a beautiful place. Many people agree. I've lived in Hawaii, Mid West, South and East Coast and I like Washington the best. Seattle actually gets less rainfall than 40 other major American cities as mention in the 2nd link below. It's just more noticeably when it happens. I remember being in the Army in Georgia and never noticed any big rains but the rain usually comes in the wee hours of the morning. Go out on the grass for PT and we'd be soaking wet. Hardly ever see the rain. During Summer, Seattle can be rain free for up to 3 months at a time.

The climate and nature/vegetation are very similar to those in Ukraine and Western Russia. It is very easy to adapt.

This is a perfect example of why we need FSUW to continue posting.  It's an obvious answer when you think about it, but it's highly unlikely that the average WM would have thought about it when courting an FSUW.

I lived in Seattle for a period in the early 90's...In my opinion, it really is a pleasant place in terms of climate.  There is a city just north of Seattle, called Ballard where lots of Scandinavian people have settled...including some very tall lean blondes...if you like that sort of thing.

Thank you :-) I was surprised to see how many Russians and Russian-speaking FSU people live in Washington/Seattle area, and in Portland, Oregon. You go to any boardwalk or cafe by the river, and there will be at least one family communicating in Russian.
I've heard that there is a strong presence of Russian church in Washington, also that there is a big community of "starovery" ("old believers" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Believers) Russians. (as a gossip, I've also heard that in the Russian community of Washington there is a high demand for sexually active males, for extramarital affairs with Russian women who are married to good but less active men. And that the sector is so significant and well-functioning that there are even "affairs matchmakers" - older women who help the demand and supply meet each other. Do not know how much truth is in this gossip.)

I've been to many states in US, vegetation in these two states have striking resemblance to Ukraine and Russia. Same plant species, same colors of the terrain, even air smells the same. It's basically like being home only everything is clean and some people around speak English.
