Hello from Montreal
« on: August 08, 2015, 08:10:17 PM »
Hi everyone, my name is Pat and I've been interested by FSU women for a few months. The topic has become mainstream in the province of Quebec and in Montreal recently, an agency has been on the news and you know... summer, newsrooms don't know what to talk about so they all jumped on this one.
This site sounds really nice, I hope it will help with the knowledge I need to acquire before I consider jumping in.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum Pat. So the media was talking bad about the men and women in this endeavor yet you may consider jumping in? The experience can be wonderful if you choose the right woman. Choose wrong and the story could be prime time news worthy. In your opinion, what is more appealing about FSU women compared to Canadian women?

Pat,

Glad you joined us.  No question is too stupid.  Heaven knows. We've all asked 'em.

This endeavor is not for the faint of heart.  Also resources, i.e. cash, will be needed.  But the rewards of a good match are beyond description.

After some ups and downs I met the most incredible woman! Do your research, learn from others and choose wisely. It is not easy, the separation is hard but in the end when you meet her it will all be worth it.

Thanks everyone!

@BillyB: The media storm surrounding FSU women in Montreal comes from an agency that opened a few months ago. They seem legit and nothing bad was said specifically about them. From a certain distance I'd say it's more like a clash of cultures between career women vs others with more family oriented values, made me realize a few things. It's been interesting the watch and read :)

@BillyB: 2 things seem very appealing about for me. The first one, is not related to FSU women. If I look back at the relationships I had in m life, 4 of them had one thing in common; the women were from another culture. 2 Italians, 1 Salvadorian and 1 Brazilian. I love the mix of cultures, being out of my comfort zone, learning new languages, all of this combined in a relationship is something I absolutely adore. The second one comes from what I read and watched about FSU women. It looks to me like they have strong family values but also, invest a lot in their relationship to make it work and last and this to me are important values. This is also very present with Italian women btw. I'm just opening my eyes to FSU and they pique my curiosity. Am I making any sense here? ;)

Hi bizpat and welcome.  Greetings from Kherson Ukraine.
Yes, you make sense.   I am not impressed by American women either.   My ex wife was German newly in US but it take long to be westernized and had many negative western influences.
Being Ukrainian heritage it was natural for me to want to seek out women who more closely matched my world view and traditions /culture.   Even for a "local" the road to a marriage with someone who will one day reside in America is fraught with peril and a requirement to go into it eyes wide open and knowing the risks involved with the reward.
do your homework and learn from the mistakes and success of others here.  As with all thing, if it seems to good to be true then it probably is.

Don't make the mistake of judging an individual based on their culture. Judge an individual as an individual. My wife believes in what you said and she wants our marriage to last a lifetime. On the other hand we've had guys here that were taken shopping on the first date with FSU women and were suckered into buying her shoes and clothes worth hundreds of dollars. We've had guys here get into relationships with FSU women and spent thousands of dollars to provide them with an upscale lifestyle and apartment in the FSU and never seen the lady join them back home. We've had guys marry FSU women who were used for green cards, or were falsely accused of domestic violence or married the guy to reunite with an FSU man who wasn't a citizen in America that they've always loved. Some FSU women will love and care for you, others will use you.

You said it right, and I guess that's where the challenge is. Could be very tough at first to spot someone trying to use you. I guess if everything is too good to be true, it's suspicious. But again, it could be genuine as well. This is where I'm hesitating between a well respected agency vs the free/low cost monthly fee Ukrainian/Russian dating sites. For some reason, I'm thinking that if a FSU women went to an agency, chances are, she may be serious about finding someone abroad. But I guess I could be very wrong too and I'm sure folks here have had very great experiences with the low cost dating sites.

Rephrase that last statement:

If a woman goes to a subscription type website and posts her information there, then she is probably serious as there is no agency that is getting paid to induce her to participate.  And she is not getting paid through an agency.

There are women who are scammers on the subscription sites.  But they are much fewer in number and of a percentage of overall respondents than the PPL and PPC sites.  These sites get paid for as long as you talk or exchange letters.  Subscription sites are paid only for a monthly membership and all communication is mostly free.

Lucky Lovers and Elena's Models come to mind as typical subscription sites.

Use both options. You won't know where that special woman is at so the more you get yourself out there, the better chances you'll have in finding the one. Contact a lot of women and find one that gives you attention back and that is thrilled to hear your voice on phone and Skype. One you decide you're compatible with her and share the same goals in life, plan on visiting. Here's a list of recommended sites in the link below.

I've got most my dates on a free site and found my wife on there. Singles.ru which is part of the Mamba network.

Hello from Toronto Pat!  :clapping:

Canada is the land of immigrants. There are many new Canadians that came from the FSU under the skilled workers migrants stream. Just like yours truly ;) You can search Russian Canadian dating websites. It could be a good experience to try the taste of the culture  8)

Welcome to the forum

There are a number of things to watch out for with online Ukrainian/Russian agencies.
Don't join an agency that charges by the letter or pay to chat and don't join an agency
that won't allow you to freely exchange information.

Here is a thread about agencies and how to get started

@Lily: I hope you like Canada :) I looked at a few sites but I was not sure which ones were good. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

Something to consider is after you have a couple prospective ladies you would like to meet then go ahead and come over but
consider your first trip a vacation and a learning experience.  Even if you don't have success first time out, then have a list of things you want to do and see.  Allow yourself to explore and get to know the "lay of the land" so to speak.  Visit a club, the war museum, parks and just observe and enjoy your time.  Have a reliable source in which to meet a girl while you are there if the 2 don't work out.
Whatever you do,  don't feel pressure to do something you are unsure about and dont feel like you must succed on first try
