Hair Length Preferences

Well globally, women walking behind men, and mostly covered up is the accepted norm.  Should I believe that truth means most women should do so as well?

I don't have the needed imagination to make the jump from a discussion point that "most men prefer a woman with long hair, across cultures, history, and civilizations"  to "women are wearing the niqab".

It's been a year (plus 9 days). Angel Eyes bought a set of clippers for my
birthday last year and has been cutting my hair since. Before that I went
months at a time without going to a barber. In the Bakken it's really
difficult to get somebody to cut your hair.

Lol, good answer. I rarely allow significant others to shave my head. They tend to wield the razor like they would shaving their legs and it ain't quite the same thing. Ouch!

You should have popped over the border into Saskatchewan. No shortage of Barbers there.

Which leads me to this observation: I encourage my fiancee to wear her hair which ever way makes her feel attractively hot. When she's feeling hot, I really reap the benefits!

Hmmmmmm, just thinking..

About once a month I am invited to some fancy party at some fancy restaurant/club, dress is formal. As I walk around the place at all these gorgeous looking women, I notice one thing....all have their hair up in a 'bun', not one lady has her hair down. Can't tell if they have long hair or extensions on but you can tell the ones with short hair......all look incredible, there was one with short hair that drew all the attention, from guys and gals.
Maybe these ladies with long beautiful hair don't want to look tooooooo good???

After two decades of seeing the most gorgeous lady on the planet in long hair, she surprised me this Spring. The length stops just at her neckline, and that is the shortest that I have ever known for her.

Those that think women with short hair are all lesbians are just adolescents that never managed to grow up.

A friend of mine calls women with long hair, "hair collectors" and he's as stubborn in his distaste as some of the adolescents are here.

As Boe says, hair length tends to fit the face - and some women look great long or short but I would never be idiotic enough to tell others that their preference was wrong.

Well--it did get you to comment! Heading to 5 pages now-- and on the  measuring scale of nonsense threads it is a topic of interest( albeit obviously "opinions ").
I put it in the same category as all the other preferences people have.To me-the hardest question to answer is about"what are you looking for" ?  All to easy to fall into the trap that it is all about appearance!!

However, if you only write to women that are attractive (to you), then you somewhat take
appearance out of the equation and can evaluate all the other factors. I will give you another
example. If you reject any girl that tells a lie immediately without exception, then you are
eliminating liars from your pool of potential Mrs ___________(your name here)

Before you write any woman you make an evaluation on what you see and what you read.
For example I didn't write to girls who were seeking a man 10 years younger than me. I
didn't write to smokers, girls under a certain age etc.

Once I send a girl her first letter then another whole series of evaluations start getting made,
but these evaluations aren't about looks because I didn't write any letters to girls that I
wasn't attracted to. I am absolutely positive that many of the thousands of girls that I wrote
to made similar evaluations about me and decided that I was too tall, too funny looking or
resembled a shaved ape more than a marriage prospect. That was fine because I wasn't trying
to collect a group of beautiful pen pals, I was trying to find a girl that I would have mutual
chemistry with.

All exactly right and your statement lends more cred to Ade's. I seem to recall you made earlier in the thread that 99.99% of women look better with long hair. That indicates long hair is a preference of "yours". In those 1000's of women you wrote, did any of them have short hair? If so, one would have to assume you thought them attractive? Did you assume they would look better with long hair?

A hot woman can be hot with short hair, but in my opinion she would be much hotter with long hair.
I didn't write many women with short hair defined for the purpose of this post as less than shoulder
length, out of those several thousand my guess would be less than ten. Off the top of my head I can
only remember one that I pursued online for a month. I can remember how many girls I wrote to with
photos showing that they were fat (zero).

Your last post would make more sense were it about bald men.  There aren't too many bald women. 


There are a few men who look good bald, but they need to have very good facial features.

On the whole this thread is rather pointless, since most agree that it all depends on personal, hence subjective, preferences . However, to me it is more interesting to wonder what these preferences may be based on and why.

Some have hinted that luscious, long hair may be interpreted subconsciously as an indicator of female health and therefore fertility - while short hair points to the contrary - which could be a heritage from enduring, LONG past considerations.

An interesting approach to this and similar aspects - how we react to face/body appearances - may be found in this book on ancient Chinese physiognomy:

Yes!
I have even told that to my current future mrs Nightwish, don't ever ever cut your long beautiful hair. (its pitch black, about to the waist and she is absolutely stunning in it)

I like long hair, I compliment my wife's hair at least 4-5 times per week. She knows I
love it. She knows that one of my complaints about American women is that they cut
their hair shorter and shorter every year of their life and tell each other they look cute.
She loves her hair too and loves the compliments that I give her.
