What are the ballots like?  Voting machines?  Paper ballots?   Punch card ballots?

I thought it was still counted by hand but perhaps the use a machine to do the first initial count. Definitely no punch machines used, I think Florida put them of any thought of that with Bush Vs Gore.

Yeah the BBC news website is now showing all of the vote counters so it is still mostly if it all done by people. Reminds me, you can get paid to count votes for the night during all these elections, I've never really fancied it, probably interesting scene for a one off but I've got other things to do.

It  would appear Moobs is going down in flames, yes?

YES :D

What?!? You mean after 104 pages of "Trenchcoat, you are clueless! You don't know what you're talking about!" jive, he was actually the clueless one? ()

Oh well, no need to be redundant as a door knob, right. Many of us already knew that.

Looks like Corbyn is toast.  Worst Labour results since the 1930's.

Looks like it's largely down to a big fall off in Labour votes. I think the main problem was that Labour didn't talk about Leave or Remain in an Election that was largely about Brexit. The party leaflet I got through the door from our local Labour candidate made no mention of whether candidate was Leave or Remain. Some we know if the candidate is Leave or Remain as they are a sitting MP but in my area the candidate was new so no one knew if candidate was Leave or Remain so I couldn't vote for that one in case later came out as the opposite. It will be the same nationally as all controlled from the Labour Executive. In other areas Labour MP's may get caught between Leave or Remain voters deserting them.

Added to that Labour's position on societal changes was a bit 1970s, social housing, widespread nationalisation, etc.

Still I think the Brexit Party might keep the Tories winning as big a majority as the Exit Poll suggests. I think they will still get a majority but not as much as the Exit Poll but we'll see how it goes.

If politicians simply executed the people's will quickly instead of fight for over 3 years, politicians wouldn't be losing their jobs right now. After Moby spends all his energy on his honeymoon, he'll welcome that humble pie buffet.

Too right Billy, yep our Mobers will be tucking into his humble pie buffet tomorrow :D

Well after 32 seats the Tories have gained 6 seats and Labour are down 7 seats. It's already looking a bad night for Labour down this many so early on.

That's the 9 they needed to get a majority, looking like they are likely to go way passed that.

Meanwhile Jo Swinson looks like she is holding up the vote declaration in her constitutency, she is reported to have left her house some time ago but has not turned up at the count yet. Perhaps she already knows what the result is by her staff from the counting, could be hilarious and be the opposite of her dream of being PM. Would be quite a humiliation for her if she lost it :)

One big Remain scalp already taken :)

"Chuka Umunna, now standing as a Lib Dem, has lost in the Cities of London and Westminster"

So ex Labour & ex ChangeUK party Chukka Umunna is no longer an MP and will be off to the Jobcentre in the morning, his political career over :) Will serve him right for being a traitor & turncoat and obstructing Brexit.

"The ultra-Remain Cities of London and Westminster returning a pro-Brexit Conservative MP after Labour and Lib Dem split the vote. Total mess for the LDs/Labour."

Hilarious Result!

Unlike our Trench, I can say..

I GOT it WRONG !

You'll have to excuse me refusing the pie..  Yesterday's marital celebrations leave no room ))

Leaving the EU in any form is madness.

Thank GOD for my Irish passport !

We'll be back, EU ..and as a certain 'gentleman' couldn't accept my offer to 'bury the hatchet' .. Don't trust a clueless Californian 'business owner' who cannot even quote me, honestly ..

YES, YES, YES, LOL!!!

The Lib Dum Leader Jo Swinson has lost her own seat :cheesy:

Marvellous News! Never mind about being PM or stopping Brexit undemocratically. Now she is not even an MP :D

She will no doubt have to step down as leader of her party months after just getting the leadership. Bet she isn't feeling so tiggerish now! Lol.

One big Arch Remoaner down there!

Let's hope the good news just keeps on coming :)

Even less than that, just 149 votes. So glad she didn't just keep her seat as otherwise it would have been a different story. Her losing her seat puts her in her place nicely :)

In the years to come I KNOW there'll be lots of people saying .. But I thought it was the 'smart' thing to do at the time ..

Good bye, Scotland and the Union ..'little englanders' haven't THE fainest idea of how they've been played ((

Some more entertainment for you Mobers ;D

"Cries of 'shame' after Remain vote split in Kensington.

You can look at this seat and say this is a big failure of the Remain alliance.

The constituency voted 70% Remain, yet the Tory candidate who voted Leave has won this seat.

Sam Gyimah who defected from the Conservatives to the Lib Dems ran here and that split the Remain vote.

There were real recriminations as the result was announced and some Labour activists were heckling the Lib Dem candidate shouting "shame, shame"."

Well unfortunately not quite a full sweep, Arch Remoaner Yvette Cooper keeps her seat, just, but a MASSIVE 21.6 percent swing to her Conservative opponent showing how badly she has upset her Leave voting Labour constituents. Let's hope that she's got the message.
