Congratulations on getting through your first (and the easiest) installment of the USCIC maze!

Best of luck and let us know how things are progressing.

Thanks Ken and I know I will be asking for plenty of helpful suggestions. I have been encouraged to see at RWG a post or two that suggest process is taking about 7mons. for those who have had to delay to get the revised I-129F and resubmit. So I am ok with that though it should not be so time consuming to get your fiancee' into the  country. IMO

JpJr:  you are lucky at 7-8 months waiting time. Now in October (2006) the Western and Northern regional centers have stopped listing the "working dates" of the I-129F because they are so far behind. I would estimate 11-12 month's processing time for a I-129F.
The rest of the regional centers still show 20 March and have been for 3 months.  For these centers, I would estimate 9-10 months.
    See   www.ilw.com   and "processing times"

Congrats, JP. Just out of curiosity, did you prepare it yourself or did you hire a lawyer?

I sent my I129-F in late August and it was approved a few weeks ago. Right now the package is at the US embassy in Moscow, and I'm hoping they'll send my fiancee her Packet 3 sometime this week. If all goes well she should be here before the New Year, which would put us at 4 months from NOA1 and her arrival. But we'll see, nothing is certain when dealing with the govt.

JP, you might know this already but you can phone the NVC at 603-334-0700 weekdays until midnight to find out the status of your case. They'll ask you for your receipt # and some information about the beneficiary before revealing the details to you. I received my NAO2 on Sept. 17, so we're in the same ballpark. The US Embassy in Moscow just told us the interview is set for 8AM on Dec. 12, so it looks like your girl will have her visa before Christmas.

Thanks Groo V, This sounds real good, as Love hoped for me to be with her for the interview. She has a GF in Moscow who we can stay with and tour the city. So it seems my deceision to go back will be the best that could have happened for all.

Groovlstk-

seems like your processing went quick... pretty much like pre IMBRA time frame.  could it be that INS finally got a handle on the back log and is up to speed?  I have been watching the J-visa website and it seems like all the centers are speeding up now.

JP- even your app. in July seems to be moving along well also.

Congrats to both of you!

You will not be allowed to be with her during the interview.  The embassy in Moscow only allows the person being interview to enter the building.

Conner is right.  You have to wait out front for her, but it is a nice sign of support to even do that much.  Most fiances don't.
