Trench, do you realize that you are in your "Peak Earning Years"
what kinda "peak" are we talkin about
how does it compare to some random teenager, who's working a minum wage job
and you claim you have knowledge and ambition
where do you keep this vast treasure of yours?
your peak earning years will be over soon, and then it's all downhill from there
I imagine that means yur retiremnt pension will be miniscule

Reality, Trench, Reality
you barely make enough for ONE person to live on
no phuqueing way you are EVER gonna make enough to support a family

part of the secret to making money is to "work yur ass off"
instead of workin hard, yur hardly working
merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream

My income will be going up soon as a result of renting my place out, that and a few more hours at work. Additionally I am going to try to develop another stream of income. My girl brings in a small amount of income. In the UK there is more support for families than in the US, free education, free healthcare, free dentistry for children, and done child benefit money, etc.

I'll get the standard State Pension which isn't bad in the UK, you can live off it. In addition I might get the Pension Credit on top. Other than that it can always be topped up with some part time work.

That is all a way away as I won't get the State Pension until I'm 67. In general it is good to have children in the UK as the government won't let them starve or be out on the street - and that means as a parent you won't either. All the homeless people are usually young single men followed by everyone else thereafter. Those with children are deemed a housing priority so they are never without a home in the UK even if it's just temporary accommodation.

I intend to do better than relying on the state for housing though of course, but as a base layer it's better than being homeless. No gender equality there for young single men lol.

you're gonna live out yur life as a Dicken's novel?
aye, here's poor little Tiny Timmy Trench, a poor wee street begger near Hereforsdshire
"can ye spare any change, me brother"

you amaze me once more Trench
a fellow of infinite jest
yeah, go have some kids for the welfare benefits
smart idea, no worky worky for Trench
just ka-ching for creating Tiny Timmy Trench
and the ghosts of Christmas past

PS
lack of understanding on my part
if you "rent your place out"
where are you gonna live?

I can see you contemplating this question
then slapping yur forehead
"DOH! I never thought about that"

Ruh-oh - time for scooby snacks

It's whatever works at the end of the day. There are many people here that either never work or rarely work and have family all on the State. The State provides rent free social housing if they are not in work, it pays them unemployment benefit, it pays them child benefit, etc virtually everything is free for them lol.

I'm not saying that is the way to live but that is the bottom rung of society in theory and living isn't too bad. Some of those on the social even invest their benefit money on Crypto and try to get rich quick.

With a house the maths should work out. We can live in part of the house and rent a room out to a lodger for extra income, possibly even two lodgers. I could even end up with a house full of Ukrainians if I rent out rooms to them lol. When hosting arrangements come to an end here after 6 months, 1 year or so then some move into rented accommodation if they can't find another host which is increasingly becoming more difficult now.

So I could become known as the local saviour of the Ukrainian people :D

Give old Schindler a run for his money ;D

does yur mansion have separate bathrooms/kitchen for the lodgers, or everyone shares yours?
lovely....

now, I see....
minimum wage job, dodgy lodgers, and welfare, is the sum of your ambition
you REALLY DO have the world all "sussed out" Trench
Elon Musk better watch out for Trench, he's building a competing empire

the reason yur "home improvements" took so long, was due to an absence of money to finance it
I would've advised you to get a "HELOC" and finish the work early
then use the lodgers to pay off yur HELOC
and you would've been done, long, long ago, and yur balance sheet MUCH IMPROVED this way, compared to the years you've taken, for what are likely minimal changes
but you missed that opportunity, like every OTHER opportunity you miss

PS
of COURSE, Trump is lying about why he's cutting off Ukrainian aid
http://www.nbcnews.com/news/military/hegseth-halted-weapons-ukraine-military-analysis-aid-wouldnt-jeopardiz-rcna216790

Trump TOLD hegseth to cut-off aid to Ukraine
to hurt Ukraine, AS MUCH AS HE POSSIBLY CAN, before Putin's "Break-out" planned for September with gazillions of gopnicks and North Koreans and Shahad Drones
you Ukrainians KNOW where the Shahad factory is, droneify it

Trump's relationship with Putin, is strictly quid-pro-quo
Trump in public office, doesn't owe the public anything, Trump ALWAYS works for Trump
and whatever $$$ Trump can SCAM, will come at a cost to the public who voted for him
just like Putin

Each bedroom now has a separate Ensuite. There are now three bedrooms in the house where before there was just one bedroom. So valuable in the UK as it means income can be gained from each extra bedroom. Most bedrooms for rent don't have an ensuite toilet so it should be quite enticing as I think a lot will appreciate being able to use the facilities at all times of the day and night without having to troop through the house to the bathroom except to hand a bath/shower. Potentially lodgers could keep a microwave and mini fridge in the rooms so as to have their own basic cooking & food facility aside from the kitchen.

A lot of work has gone into changing the house. I think if I paid others to do it, it would have been find quicker but would have been a little more expensive, to very expensive for a small house. I get where you are coming from and you could be right. I definitely wouldn't want to embark on doing this type of thing again, I have learnt a lot but yeah time over again taking a more financial route could have been a better choice.

yet another of my predictions about Putin's war has been fullfilled

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/russia-ramps-up-chemical-attacks-with-wwi-choking-agent-as-putin-blitzes-kyiv/ar-AA1HYM1R?ocid=winp1taskbar&cvid=ea4b68f811d343789da15269d098aeb6&ei=59

this will keep increasing, and if no western response, no "red line" then it's gonna kick it up a notch with Novichok
