Atlantic sex article

My friends and I notice these issues as well. Most people anymore seem to only want to date the top 20%. Probably why most of us pursue RW.

nothing wrong with dating aspirationally!!!

"all politics is local"
and sex is as well

in the USA, worst place for me was Northern California, aka, "Silicon Valley"
highest male/female ratio in the USA
plus every other guy was a software engineer who made 120k/yr and had stock options in the hundreds of thousands to millions
and had a BS engineering degree at a minimum
worst dating environment EVER for me, cuz I was in this herd of guys as well!!!

when I first went to Ukraine it was the opposite of this
a tall, successful, physically attractive white male even if he were Ukrainian would have have his pick of women
but add being an exotic foreigner and crazy rich
means you could ACTUALLY GO AND DO the things you could only fantasize about back home in sunny California

so I made the journey from famine to feast
call me a glutton if you want
a libertine
it was fun

but, as you have noted, something new is afoot
involuntarily celibate

to me it seems they are people who are so extremely socially isolated/incompetent and to such a degree
that they don't know how to "navigate" when it comes to sexuality
plus, I think for INCELS online porn has become a place for them to retreat to
and so they lose motivation

a couple of these guys post here, YOU know who you are...

in the west social dynamics between men and women are changing
the social value of men is declining
while that of women is increasing
that will tend to lower the overall score a male will receive in the dating market
while increasing a female's
in addition, there is a phenomenon where women tend to "marry up" compared to men
because of these trends, some guys will end up with such a low dating marketability score
that they fall below some minimum threshold
and are effectively "unmarketable" and so they become an INCEL

The age of digital identity and communication probably has a lot do with the changes. Less advanced social skills, unrealistic self-image and more neuroticism are probably common byproducts. Throw in a dose of feminism and #metoo hysteria and it only creates more fear and uncertainty for younger guys. No doubt porn has had an influence too.

What people see on places like Instagram are almost Hollywood/magazine cover fictions. Of the women I've met via online means I'd say 80% look worse than their photos (some measurably worse), 10% about the same, and 10% better.

Hypergamy has -always- been a thing. Women date higher socially or economically than their "normal" level, and guys go for beautiful women. So there's no problem with aspirational dating so as long as it is still grounded in some level of realism.

There are many contributors to this but readily available online porn is
by far the number one cause.

1. Porn

2. Play dates: When kids were told to get out of the house, they went out
and made friends and learned social interaction. Now even the casual interaction
is set up by others. Going out and finding stuff to do and people to do it with is
an important part of becoming a useful, successful member of society and that
learned skill is never developed.

3. Participation trophies: Not having winning as a goal caused a who generation
of children aspire to mediocrity.

4. Feminization of men: I could write a book on this but I won't.

5. I would add the me too movement is causing this as well. Making men fear legally
what would happen if their advances aren't appreciated, isn't going to make men
interact more socially. It will be less.

It was a long article, but I found one part very surprising..... my 2 rubles. Don't Molotov cocktail me, and just consider

The article said the top searches for porn today were girl/girl and cartoon. Huh? Neither have a human male. Krimster might have answered this with the lower value of men today, but what if beauty is learned via media? Cartoons?? Not just being feminaized as you said, but young men are learning beauty via the female characters in their video games too?   The closest thing to porn we had in my generation, were our Moms subscriptions to fashion magazines like Vogue and Cosmopolitan. When the FSU collapsed it was a dream come true, all these fashion models were there for us and we went. Maybe this generation is content sitting in their parents basement playing video games with their fantasy cartoon girlfriends?

I say this because I just raised millennials. We would host the girls swim team every other Friday Night during swim season. The first time I stayed up thinking of all the boys I would have stop from sneaking in our windows. Ya know? They never showed? The best they could offer was a text saying 'Hey, do you want to hang out?' No romance, no gifts, no promises of excitement if they snuck out, even though these girls were fine

Nothing meek about my 20 year old son.

He went backpacking in Portugal,Morocco,Southern Sahara, walked with Lions in Senegal...then did Cambodia,Thailand and Vietnam on his own.

He's joined the Royal Marines as an officer...looks like a Calvin Klein model.

He'd prefer to go rock-climbing,mountain biking and surfing than waste time chasing girls.

Reason being there are probably very few girls out there who'd meet his exacting standards...in looks and attitude...and he has absolutely no interest in meaningless one night stands...too much self-esteem for that.

Funny thing is he was travelling on a train in Vietnam where a girl from Ukraine and a girl from Russia travelling together launched into a verbal tirade against a Putin worshipping guy from the USA : ))))

I'd love to have been on that train ..

ML,

       What's off ?

The age requirement for joining the Royal Marines as a direct entry officer is 18-25.

As for his self-esteem..quality before quantity..takes after his dad in that respect.

Krimster is near enough the mark, it is essentially Feminism that is tge driving force. It turns a lover into 'the competition', enables women to become so fat as to be undesirable to most men and makes men fear approaching a woman or having anything to do with one for fear of accusations.

I've said it a whole now that Feminism particularly women going after careers in the workplace has a 'massive' social consequence and not all good. Pushing women towards careers is seen as all good and no wrong, BUT they are not looking and the big picture and more specifically the less seen but very significant effects of related changes happening as a result of women being pushed towards having careers. In that process Men are seen as the competition which the Women have to compete against for careers & vice versa, so thereby making them the enemy - and you don't sleep with the enemy. Employers don't have to pay the lucrative sums they once did to career people now that they are awash with both genders heavily competing for those careers. They can push them to work long hours doing difficult stressful work for little pay so little time to enjoy oneself. If it's a guy he better watch his back as the slightest chance for a female colleague wishing to rise up the ranks by being able to accuse of sexual harassment and she will do - the employer will be only too willing to oblige such is the fear of bad press, litagation & feminist groups on their case.

The essential effect is that men no longer have anywhere near the financial means they once did. Hence as Krimster states they don't hit thd necessary mark to meet the minimum level of acceptance for women. My sister when she divorced her first husband after nearly 10 years of marriage found this when trying to find another guy. She asked where we're all the 'decent' guys - 'decent' I later found out meant a guy with a good job and his own place mostly paid up for since she had mostly paid up for her place she didn't think it fair that a guy come along who hadn't similar.

Problem is most women want to jump off the career bandwagon after a few years, particularly as they get into their thirties but can't. No men around that are earning enough or even have their own house. They have essentially knocked out the men out off the running they would be looking to support them in order to have a family, lol. The stupidity of it all is astounding. End result most of us are living more miserable, lonely, unfulfilled lives stuck doing boring 'career' jobs in the office to all hours. If a guy were to give up a 'career' job like me to work a non 'career' job on the same or better money (because career jobs in the UK now pay so low) you get looked down upon by career women which is most UK women for lacking status and ambition. Never mind the low pay and stress you would have in a career job that apparently is what you have to accept just so you can say you are 'such and such' and therefore acceptable in status for a woman if not in earnings which of course makes it rather pointless really. The snobbery and idiocy of it all is astounding.

In the UK I would say the situation is worse than in the US. Wages for careers are lower & the cost of housing is generally steeper. All in all there are several social trends that need reversing, EU immigration for one and Feminisation for another. If I can get a good independent income coming in UK I would live most of my time in Ukraine, it's social situation for me would be far, far nicer than we have in the UK!

Nonsense

Wages seem higher because of Brexit uncertainty and a weak UK currency

Housing costs in the US / UK  depends on where you live

Healthcare to the level 'WE' in the UK expect - you couldn't afford in the US

No, it isn't feminism.  Youth has always been difficult, and, as an old professor emeritus once told our class on why he discounts polling on human issues, "People lie."

The vast majority of teen boys have always been meek.  I know when I was young, most teens were not having casual sex, and the majority were virgins.  I also know as a fact that casual hook ups are very common in my kids' age range, particularly at parties.

Personally, I think if this is true, porn is to blame.  It's less work.  I also think that in cities, the cost of living, necessitating roommates, or living with parents, working longer, and marrying later, also has an effect on dating and interpersonal relationships.

Feminism is not to blame here.  I have worked with men all my life, and I never viewed men as my competitors, nor they, me.  Men who complain about feminism are usually men who would have the same interpersonal issues if women were banned from the workplace.

kids today....

why when I was young, the only porn I had access to was my dad’s National Geogrphics in the library
they had travel photo essays of exotic locations where the women wore only loincloths and sometimes less!

this promoted a STRONG desire within me to travel and go and see the ummm all the “sights” the world had to offer
however, was disappointed when I actually did go to these places

Ukraine made up for that disappointment 100X

Situation remains that men need to be rewarded for their efforts with decent women. Attractive women are the treat with which to entice men to work hard. Take that away and productivity falls away as it is in the UK. Obese women or career women that aren't interested/don't have the time for men/see them as the opposition aren't going to tempt any man into putting in effort into his work but rather demoralise him from botherjng at all. Instead a guy is likely to want to do as little as possible & go and while away his time on the Xbox, Netflix or on the booze, etc. Take away the one and the other falls away - so essentially you're back at a not very good place in getting women into careers en masse.

Throughout my career, I've worked with men.  Some were rounders (married and unmarried), some were alcoholics, some were drug addicts, and most were just family men.  Those that were exceptionally high producers (I mean taking home high six or seven figure salaries, year in and year out) didn't do so for access to women.  They did so because they were driven to the work.  However, if this is your theory, then by your own theory, you are not entitled to a "decent" woman, whatever that means.

Lesbian & Feminazi clap trap Mobers.

TrenchIe well and truest nailing his misogynistic colours to his mast. Trench, you may as well become an Incel and join that club.
