If your assets are significant, you'll be fine. Plenty of retired guys living off SS but have acquired assets over the years and allowed to bring their fiancées to America

I did finish my education, I don't want to start a career yet though because
that would prevent me from traveling for a long period of time.

Go to a city with a large University and take a course or go to the English
department and see if you can be an English tutor or something like that.
If you don't need the money offer to do it for mere kopecks.

You will get a lot of advice here and some of it will be good and some of
it will be dead wrong. The USCIS doesn't care if some knucklehead here
gave you bad or outdated information.

So I advise you to educate yourself on the laws and requirements involved
and checking out the Visajourney.com forum and the USCIS website as well.

In my opinion very few* 18-23 year old women in the FSU are ready for marriage.
That doesn't stop them from doing it because they do it all the time, but often
they are divorced a few years later. I advise taking the long view and careful
planning.

I come across plenty of ' not ready ' lasses in Russia who have kids by 25 ... they are even still with the father of their kids ...

I'm afraid I cannot share your viewpoint that such events are / were the exception .. and you've not been to the FSU in a LONG time ...

I discussed this topic with K only a few days ago. She has a son who’s in His early 20’s and a younger daughter, some of her friends have children this age too. In her social circle they don’t encourage their children to make the same mistakes they did by getting married early or even have a serious relationship at that age. K wants her son to finish university and start his career before setting down. She said in this generation there is less or no pressure for young women to marry early and the social stigma of not finding a mate in her early 20’s isn’t a concern anymore. Her parents generation still comment on a young persons relationship status, but not K’s generation (those who were teenagers in the 90’)
