Trenchcoat if you find an Orthodox Christian in Ukraine it is likely they want to leave. Ukraine is attemtping to remove the Christian Orthodox church becauae of their strong connection with Russia, in favour of Western Catholicism and Protestant religion.
As you are not religious, all may seem the same to you, but there are a great deal of differences.

Good to see you are alive and well Shadow, so far.

That news about the Ukraine turning to Catholicism and Protestant religion is news to me, I would doubt it's authenticity. As far as I know there is now a Ukrainian Orthodox Christian Church that is separate to the Russian Christian Orthodox Church. Last I heard that remnants of the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine were still around here and there but they were under the suspicion of the Ukrainian government and relations were not well between the two

I don't usually follow religious stuff much as I'm not religious but your news is interesting nonetheless.

They are not going away from Orthodoz church, they just broke away their orthodox church from the Rossian one which is 100% controlled by Putin and where the priests advocate for murder

The Western edits are clear.
Breaking away is simply to hide like they did in Communist times. After the war is ove expect a reunion.
Perhaps the news about Othodox holidays being scrapped in favour of Catholic ones in the Dutch press was fake.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

no, I believe that's TRUE
funny isn't it?
you're invaded by someone, and you move away from them in response
like a bad "break-up"
Putin tells Ukraine, you CAN'T breakup with me, because if I can't have you, nobody else can
so Ukraine is flirting with the EU
and thanks to Putin, Sweden and Finland joined NATO, and NATO members have raised their military spending to 5% of GDP
all because of Putin's war

Ukraine is shifting to the West, and wants the holidays to align with western europe
English is now one of the official languages of Ukraine
ALL BECAUSE OF PUTIN'S WAR!!!

when I lived in Crimea, my children went to an elitny school that was being elevated to Western European educational standards and not Russian so students could easier apply to western universities
now that same school, requires all students to wear military uniforms, and learn basic military training, so they can save time later
not one student will be attending a western university

and you call that progress
just out of curiosity, regarding the Nazi occupation of Holland
how's that different from what Russia is trying but failing to do in Ukraine

one people, one leader, One Russia
come for the borscht and stay for the fascism

A couple of answers from Google AI:

"In Ukraine, the dominant religion is Eastern Orthodox, but Catholicism is also present, with the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church being the second-largest religious organization. A significant minority of Ukrainians, particularly in the western regions, identify as Catholic, primarily through the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Additionally, a smaller percentage of Ukrainians belong to the Latin Church and other Catholic rites."

If Ukrainian girls become Catholic they will be even more sexier. Catholic girls love to drop their knickers then pretend they are good girls ;D

Seriously though apart from the change to the western calendar I am not so sure that there will be a shift from a independent Ukrainian Eastern Orthodox religion but will be interesting to see I guess.

catholicism is more prevalent in western Ukraine, due to their historical roots in the Austro-Hungarian Empire

I wanted to mention that my best friend here is a woman from Russia who got very much into a Russian Orthodox church here in US after her son commited suicide 12 years ago. She is super religious and is very much against Putin's war. Her church leadership have also broken off with the orthodox leadership in Russia out of principle even though the community isn't religious at all.

I copied this quote from Google AI to my question how many Christian Orthodox
churches are there.

"15 self-governing (autocephalous) Eastern Orthodox Churches and a number of autonomous
churches. These churches are in communion with each other, meaning they share the same
core beliefs and traditions."
