my wife's relatives (poor Russians) in Crimea
got their mobilization notices a couple of days ago
they're taking men up to 45, anyone with prior military experience is prioritized
those in the equivalent of the national guard or "territorials" to you Brits
are exempt from mobilization, as per their contract
so it's just these guys, for now
but from Crimea they're drawing A LOT of canon fodder
from what I gather, tehy're gonna be distributed to existing units as replacemnts
instead of forming new units
they'll be the guys who march up front
at attract Ukrainian artillery fire
so the Russians can then return fire and try to destroy Ukrainian artillery
sacrificing these old dewds from remote provinces vto wack NATO artillery

Family in Moscow told me that yesterday arrests of the military began in Moscow. Traffic in the city center was stopped. Units of Elite Russian Guards entered the city, Multiple arrests, detainments and blockings of military buildings

there is a distinct possibility that NONE of this is gonna end up they way people are thinking
and that Ukraine is ACTUALLY gonna be a trap for NATO
because Russia has 10 times the number of tactical nukes as the US, who tried to get rid of them in the 1990s
if this is the chosen path, then there will be a "physical display" before use
it would take the seizure of Crimean water to start Pootin down this path

I think the US probably has enough nukes to destroy at least every major Russian city and vice versa. By these totals they can probably obliterate each other completely. Of course it depends how Russia's nukes go, whether they have been maintained and up to the task and can launch and fly, etc. We've seen the poor state of Russia's army so possibly an off chance we their nukes aren't worthy anymore though of course we can't chance it.

Even the UK alone with its much smaller arsenal of nukes can probably take out every major Russian city. I don't think Putler will want war with NATO or a nuclear conflict with the west at this juncture. He knows that the west cannot back down from standing their ground if pressed and their is little to be gained for him in a MAD scenario. He's into playing the game and right now that game is in Ukraine for him. He's losing at present but will likely be looking for a way to win. He's a Judo guy so for him it's all about finding a strategy to grapple his opponent down to victory.

I'm not sure why they would be arresting guys in the military. Do they suspect a coup is being plotted? Or just guys ducking the draft? Or needing scape goats for the failures in Ukraine so far?

Two heavy-duty trucks were involved in this operation. The cargo were 22 pallets of plastic food wraps, 9 rolls each (one pallet weighs about a ton), that arrived in the Georgian port of Poti from Bulgaria by sea. The ordering customer was a citizen of Ukraine. Then it was loaded onto a truck with foreign license numbers. The driver of the first truck communicated with the ordering customer via WhatsApp. Further, the truck went from Georgian port of Poti to Armenia, where the cargo was customs cleared according to the rules of the Eurasian Customs Union. This is a typical, unsuspicious route for truckers traveling to Russia.

Then the trucks entered Russian territory through the Verkhny Lars checkpoint. The same one through which several thousand neoliberal Russians or common parasites fled to Georgia, fearing mobilization. The truck’s final destination was the city of Armavir, where the pallets were reloaded onto another truck, which headed toward Crimea. The second truck and its driver were blown up on the Crimean bridge.

All power is now back on in Kiev,Kharkiv,Lviv and all other cities affected.


The reality is Putler fired 83 Cruise missiles into Ukraine,45 of which were shot down,in response to Kerch Bridge being blown up, and killed 19 civilians and wounded 100 more.


No doubt he'll be getting off on killing and wounding more civilians,but it'll do zilch for his war effort.


He's fired a few more cruise missiles into Ukraine today,but as of now they've all been shot down.


I'm sure the Russians living in s*itholes in Dumpski will have been impressed with over 1 Billion USD wasted on missiles yesterday alone by Putler...what a loser he is.


If Belarus enters the war their army will be slaughtered in Ukraine and Lukashenko will be out on his ear,with his people ready to mount a coup against him.They'll probably apply to join NATO then.

Ukraine's Minister of Energy has reported 30% of the nation's energy infrastructure has been hit. That doesn't include other targets such as rail junctions, telecommunications, and government facilities.
