What's big deal about married folks and immigration
« on: June 19, 2024, 12:59:02 PM »
Biden's announced plan is to prevent deportation for  spouses married to US citizens.

From what I remember when I was up on this stuff is that . . . a person whether here legally or illegally can file AOS as soon as they marry a US citizen.

So I don't understand what this new rule adds to existing situation.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Biden's rule applies if yur spouse is "undocumented"
eventually all "illegal" immigrants will be legal ones

history repeats itself
remember the census 3/5 compromise over skavery
now it's immigrants

You are correct, nothing has changed.

no it is NOT
undocumented spouses of US citizens can now apply and become legal citizens
before, they could not, cuz they were here "illegally" w/ no visa, green card, etc

a smart move

a smarter one would be to make all the stuff we buy in China in maquiladoras on the Mexican/US Border
and both share in the profit

we had a MUCH better labor policy with Mexico during WWII when we NEEDED TO, then what we have today
but just like Covid "became politicized" so to is immigration
so we've taken one of our biggest assets and turned it into a liability
our enemies rejoice and will make great inroads into Latin America at the USA's expense

congratulations, you played yourself....
hoo-ray for you!
