Religious Dating in the FSU and at Home
« on: Today at 03:05:44 AM »
Just thought I would create a thread on this topic as Religion and Dating is an interesting one I think. It's only a topic I am somewhat familiar with as I am not religious so my exposure to it has been light.

To me one of the religions that has gained my curiosity over time has been the Catholic Religion topical at the moment I guess due to the new American Pope. Anyhow, from what I have learnt over the years and more recently on the internet is that Catholic girls (and guys) should understand their Religion only date guys that they are serious about and vice versa. That they shouldn't date guys for fun, and shouldn't date more than one guy at the sand time, etc.

I'm not saying that all necessarily stick to that, I have only known of one Catholic girl when I was at College many years ago and she seemed to stick to that rule. She followed her faith but not fanatically from what I could gather, went to confessionals fairly frequently, etc but never spoke of any religious verse or of any religious stuff outside to people that she knew or to me.

In a world where dating has become difficult, does region offer any better source for dating than the outside world?

In Ukraine I only know of Lviv where there is much in the way of the Catholic religion. I don't need to find another girl now but it has always intrigued me whether religion offers much of a useful source on dating women for those that are a part of its religion. Lviv was a very interesting city for me to have visited in Ukraine. So many different religions dividing the city into about roughly four districts of the main square I believe, I did the tour ;)

Outside the city centre of Lviv the tower block suburbs and the main places where most of the population lived I guess, no idea if they constituted the same divisions as in the city centre. I don't know what happens if a girl or guy from an Orthodox Christian family wants to get with a girl/guy from a Catholic family or vice versa, it probably happens and one probably takes on the others religion but my guess is that they probably usually marry within their own faith.

My guess is that any WM who seems reasonable of a certain religion and turns up at their denomination in Ukraine could potentially have a good dating source at hand if he managed to interact well enough at a particular church etc out there. That for me has always seemed to be a big bonus for the religious crowd over being stuck on dating apps which is usually the default choice.

The only other similar institution that might offer similar opportunity to Religion is probably University out there, but while possible at any age turning up in your forties or older as a student is probably going to feel a bit weird dependant I guess on the subject, etc.

Very important words that you have spoken there Krim. I think too many men in this FSU dating endeavour aim too high in terms of setting their sights on a pretty girl with little in the way of negatives. Usually they are setting themselves up for a fall in doing so and unfortunately it doesn't usually end happily ever after.

Maybe occasionally the girl might actually like them and really be into them but with pretty girls with little in the way of negatives this is probably rare if the guy isn't god walking on earth lol. Usually pretty girls with little in the way of negatives have lots of options even if their character or attitude isn't always all that great. That usually presents problems in dating them and having a long term relationship.

Often we have seen on here in the past the first attribute many FSU dating seekers state is how attractive looking the woman they are seeing is or how they want an attractive looking women. While that may be to sone extent in the eye of the beholder I think that many guys (even myself in the past) have jumped too quickly to put that at the forefront of their mind. I'm not saying to avoid ending up with an attractive looking woman but I think it's best not to be too full frontal with that in approaching FSU dating.

For me I am happy with the girl I have got, we seem to be getting on well enough now. She is quite pretty but she has her issues though those needn't be a problem. I know for me that pretty girls with little in the way of issues or negatives would likely do be no good at all. Self improvement though I agree Krim is always a good idea and I still try and move to that even though I am in a relationship now, it's just better being admired more in general I think if possible.

Even still I continue to be intrigued about the whole pursuit of dating and how different people go about it.
