In 2002 my 30-year younger Moscovite and I went to Italy for our second meeting and her 27th birthday (not making this up).  Simply glorious place - architecture, history, art, food (and please do not eat pizza or MickeyDs), wine, shops, and especially the people.  Florence and the Tuscany environs should be the No. 1 stop, yet Rome is also a "do not miss".

Moscovite applied for her Schengen Visa using one of those Moscow agencies that specializes in visas.  It took her almost one month to obtain it, and she received it two days before her departure.  Of course, air tix had already been purchased and deposits paid for hotels.  Creates some anxiety, yet everything fell in place.

Thanks Gator,

That is a big help.   It sounds like Rome had better be our second trip so we have time for the Visa.   I have been there one time and to Italy about three times.  It is one of my favorite places.  VWRW has always dreamed of it so I think when we go it will be a wonderful trip.

Yep - a few times. Company I consulted with had offices in Padova, and I managed to get over to Venice on several of the trips.

Water taxis and other touristy stuff are outrageously overpriced, but the architecture and history are phenomenal. Easy to get lost wandering around the back streets - one of my favorite pastimes - but its kind of fun finding one's way back to the landmarks.

Yep, been there a dozen times...one of my favorite cities in the world.  Dito with Dan on the architecture and history; also great museums.  Wonderful food also.  Expensive on everything, but worth it.

They are in love after a one week meeting? Ok, I understand there was correspondence too, but give me a break, they barely know each other. I think the advice to take the relationship 'off-board' was good, all these comments and speculation about the future can't help a budding relationship.
Well, David-I'm glad you agree with half what I said. LOL  ;D

But you question the issue of "love."  So here are my thoughts...

Yes, I think you can fall in love, or be falling in love, in this time frame.  Remember, they had been writing for a while, and Turbo had a great feeling for her going into the meeting.  You can read his posts about that.  And I also had some private emails from him in advance of this meeting that detailed just how good of a match they appeared to be.

If you read some of the early 2005 posts at RWD on chemistry, a lot of the guys here say very strongly that they knew within FIVE minutes of meeting their future mate that she was "the one."

Thus, given the email lead-up to their meeting and then intensity of their week together, and given Turbo's experience, Yes, I think they could be in love or falling in love.  So they are not moving too fast.

Also, as they have stated here, they are planning a second face to fact meeting.

Cupid rules  :)

I must be slow. I needed 20 minutes to realize that,
but another year before we were certain...Lol

I too was in Venice one time.   I was not there for long and I was alone.   Venice is a better place to be when you are with someone special.

Thanks for the nice comments.   Yes, I felt VWRW was going to be the one even before we met.   As far as some of the other things I think that is more personal than I want to talk about right now.   I will just say our words have not gotten ahead of our emotions.   I think VWRW is the nicest person I have ever met.  I am sure I can feel anything for her that I am capable of feeling.   I am not a believer in love at first sight.  I think love is something that develops over a period of time.   All I know right now is that when I am with her I am the happiest I have ever been in my life.   It is enough for me.

Hello Kuna,   That was a nice post.  There is a lot of wisdom there.  I particularly liked the part about life being the persuit of happiness not pleasure.   I seem to have seen a lot of people who chased pleasure.  Now I know why the Dali Lama was considered so wise.

VWRW,  I have to agree with you.  I think the discussions have helped more than anything.   We don't ever seem to lack for things to talk about but I think there were some good points brought up that we may not of thought of so fast.

Jinx,  I really never thought that much about it being so unique to have both parties in a relationship here but you are right, it is a little different.   Our next meeting may be Rome or someplace else.   I am a little concerned about getting the visa for her as quickly as we would need it to go to Rome.   I think Rome may have to wait for the third visit.   I think Egypt might win out.   Does anyone know how long it takes to get the Shengen visa? (not sure I am spelling that right)   I will add, she has had one before, so that should make it a little easier to get (yes/no)   We are trying to work out the details now for our next visit.

I agree with you about Moscovitcha.   Everyone is entitled to their opinion.   Sometimes we may disagree.   Sometimes we don't want to hear it.   Still the more ideas and thoughts that are expressed the better.

Egypt visa is easier and less costly to obtain than Schengen. Hotel in Cairo is much less than hotel in Rome. Cost of living in Cairo is less than in Rome. Airfare to Cairo might be more than to Rome although Aeroflot flys direct from Moscow to Cairo and it seemed to me the fare was about $400.00 round trip. Lena flew from Astrakhan to Moscow for about $200.00, layed over at Moscow for 11 hours and then flew to Cairo for $400.00 round trip? I forgot. But is was not expensive.

Turbo

As Gator said before the Russian Tour Operators and Agents provide Visa service for holidays they sell. Their Mode Operandi is to apply 3-5 days before departure for GROUP or Individual VISA and deliver the passport and Documents to the client the day before or on the day of departure at the airport.

Olga in both cases, Kos and Corfu had to collect her Schengen visa and documents at the airport on the day of departure. The same with Sofia too, she had to fly to Moscow and collect her documents 4 hours before flying to Greece. Standard practice.

If you choose to go to Egypt or Turkey your G/F do not need to have a visa. She will pay on arrival and let her in.

Venice is beautiful and Romantic, even in the winter as also Rome but you may need to replace the cold Russian weather with the hot weather in Egypt, which VWRW will appreciate much and not catch a cold again!

There is a company called Mondo tours in Moscow http://www.mondotours.ru  (in Russian), who can organise all that for you including the visa's: Call Sergei who speaks good English at: +7 095 258 3939. He will help you for everything. He has done excellent job with Sofia's Visa. well a few dollars tip makes wonders......

Wish you all the best to both.
Yannis

You know, I still don't get it.  Sure, this is the place for open debate, sharing of ideas and such, but WRT the issue of TG and VWRW having a future together, I say that if they're happy and satisfied with it, then who the hell cares what anyone else thinks?  People like Moscovitcha who try to force their opinion on others and make them do what they think is "right" irritate the crap out of me.  Mind your own business but if you're gonna say something be supportive and positive I say.

Eh, whatever.  It's late and I must still have some unused testosterone from my gym workout tonight or something. ;)

Best to all,

Jerry

Thanks for the tips.   If she can get time of work we will likely do both over the next few months.   I am not sure how big an if that will be or not.

Thanks Jerry.  I appreciate the nice comment.

The reality of it is if a few well meaning comments that we may not like would destroy us then we have nothing worth saving anyway.

Hey Turbo...

You're obviously very happy, and vwrw is very happy too!  Anyone can see she's a beautiful girl and you've obviously seen her beauty on the inside too.

As a newbie to this whole process, I take great hope from your journey and your story.

OK, I'm going to ask the question that we're all thinking of... (and don't any of you single blokes deny it!)

Does vwrw have any sisters?

HAHAHAHA

Sorry mate, couldn't help it. Only kidding (but just!)

 ;D

vwrw,

Well, I think advice from the forum can be helpful, I have used it in my relationship too, and you are right about opening up discussion between you and Turbo, it can lead to better communication and understanding, but do you really want to try and develop this relationship online, with all of us as a witness?

Jinx, I do not dispute a man till I am in doubts he is right. As only either Turbo says me or I see we really develop our relationship among the witness I will please Turbo to take it off the board. Till that I am going to listen to the comments and the speculation we receive.
I very appreciate the opinions we have received include Moscvichka’s opinions. Thank everyone! As about Moscvichka, the general sense of her post she has made in Russian was – Of course, there are exceptions (KenC) that are able to build successful relationship despite on a larger age difference but it seems to her we are not included in the exceptions. So as it is obviously to her that I play games with Turbo and lie him. It is obviously to her because of to her mind every one of women wants to have a young, pretty and well off man as a husband. So as I am with Turbo and to her mind, Turbo is not as great man as KenC is, she make the conclusion that I am simply a actress. As a result you can see the post where I wrote I will not prove anything to her. But that does not mean she is not allowed to express her opinions.

Nice post VWRW.   I agree with you totally.  I am sure you could be the best actress in the world if you wanted to be but I know you are not acting.  I know too that neither of us is playing games.  We are just living life and looking for happiness.   Seeing what we have together from a closer perspective than others, I believe we have found it.

Getting back to the original subject of the thread, Jack's tour.  Jack sent everyone some photos from the tour and I wanted to post some of them.

Photo 1 is just a scene from one of the parties.

Photo 2 shows Turbodude in one of the contests.  He needs to remember to keep his eyes open.  I think he was missing something.

Photo 3 Gives a good reason for any man to want to take up smoking.   I missed this at the party.  Probably just as well.

Photo 4.  Just some of the gals at the party.

Here are some more.

The first is just some of the gals at the party.  They were not any I knew.

The second photo shows one of the contests.  On this one they had to dance without taking their feet off the paper.

The last photo shows some of the guys sitting around looking through agency catalogs.   The one in the red is Turbodude. (My son for those who have not read the rest of the thread)
