Bruno,

I am downloading now (SLOW!), so I have not yet opened it - but can you tell me who the original producers are/were for this video? Was it for British television - or some other channel?

Just curious.

It is was the reportage from Channel4, the 3 october 2006 at 22h00... i think someone have make a post about it somewhere on the forum...

EDIT : Some people have PM me that they cannot open the file due to missing codec in Windows media player... Remember that Windows media player is a beautiful empty shell with almost no codec... same for DVD, you need other codec installed with program like PowerDVD...

In these video, the codec is Xvid, something similar to DivX... if you wish resolve your codec problem one time for all, install the Klite codec pack... it support 99% of the existing codec... simply download it at http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm ... Use the media player classic from these package... not so much beautiful that the last windows mediaplayer but your processor power is used for the video/audio and not for a fancy player... in anycase, in full screen, your video/audio is the only thing that your hear and see...

If you have notenough with the KLite codec, download the bigger one, the Mega codec pack at http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm ... mainly the Quicktime alternative and the Real alternative is added ( with a few thing more )

Bruno,

I have no idea if it is possible - but if that video can be (legally?) uploaded to YouTube, I just installed a new feature which will enable people to view YouTube videos directly from RWD.

Just a thought.

Yes, it is this one...

Dan, some people have already download it... For YourTube :

"Currently, the only limit is 100MB and 10 minutes in length per video"... ok, i am sure that i can be able to reduce the video around 100MB without too much loose of quality... but the limit of 10 minutes are really a pain in the a$$...

Sorry guys, the original is not from me... i am not the creator of the tracker, i have just host it... i was simply seeking other torrent file when i have see these title and remember have hear of it in a other post...

And really, i don't see problem with .torrent file... in one year, i have download more of 1 Terabyte of media... and i seed at a very low ratio ( 0.15 for success torrent, 0.30 for other )... torrent system is sharing in the real/full meaning of the words... and usualy, quality is enough good...

Now, about legally, i don't think that it is... Channel4 have certainly not give the right to diffuse it... hosting a tracker is not illegal... upload the file is illegal...

First you say this...........

Bruno,

I am downloading now (SLOW!), so I have not yet opened it - but can you tell me who the original producers are/were for this video? Was it for British television - or some other channel?

Just curious.

- Dan

Then you say this..............

Yep - I *do* have "knowledge of" it - quite a bit of "knowledge of" it, in fact.

And on the other thread you said this................

And BTW - if you look hard enough, you are likely to see one of the RWD sister sites on display in the programme.

So here you ask questions like its interesting and new to you and you know nothing about it yet then you kinda trip yourself up?

Come on Dan..........Tell us what you know!  ;D

BTW - I have since learned that the London guy is a poster on RMP (link prohibited here) but if you seek out a thread on this subject on RWG you will find the link to his posts on the subject.

I had a sneaking suspicion that the Texas guy was a RWD bloke?

Come on Dan, spill the info?  ;)

Manny,

After reading at RMP, that guy from London seems fine with what he saw on TV and is going out to dinner with the producer afterwards. I haven't seen it but you seem to think the show implied the guy was a loser. The posters at RMP think the show depicted him fine , or maybe they're suger coating their comments.

Yes my lady and I watched the show. It was uneventful and nothing to be too excited about when all said and done.

I have no axe to grind with the London guy, he just came across as a bit of a cheapskate. He made the girl pay her own train fare from Russia to Czech to marry, and he then boasted that whatever he had spent in the exercise to date, she had spent roughly the same. When you consider the difference between the economies of London and Russia that is quite pitiful!

Plus he had only spent a laughably small amount of time with the girl (who incidentally does not speak English!!!!!!!!!!!) before he popped the question. He did some cheap Czech wedding do for £1500 where her half of the service was done in Russian to try to circumvent the UK Fiancee visa requirement, the poor girl had never even visited England! (her new home!)

To make it worse, her parents were so concerned about this union and the short time they had spent together and how little they knew of him, they arranged a meeting - none of them spoke English either, did he do the decent thing and fund and take a translator to allay their fears? NO - he let the parents arrange it! And pay for it!

The girl is moderately pretty but no model but quite a nice girl actually. (if young!)  The Russian had English subtitles but you could hear the Russian speech also, my lady was open mouthed throughout as to how daft people can be. Her comment was initially that the girl had a poor education and that was reflected in her speech (in Russian) but she thought the chap initially OK and reasonably handsome. When I explained how he was a cheapskate and how, her opinion changed.

Added to which he has 2 jobs (a necessity in London with the cost of living) but neither of them are anything to speak of and moderately paid ones at that. He looked a tad unkempt and his research on the topic of RW seemed zero to negligible.

One of his jobs is as a doorman (club door security in case the phrase does not translate in the states) and that job is well known here to have women literally throwing themselves at you every night - how he could not find a UK girl and why he looked to Russia was not mentioned.

He was poorly prepared and chose a girl he didn't know and married her on the cheap, and to top it all they have almost zero communication. That is why I labelled him a loser. I see a train crash coming.

Many people in the UK watched this programme and it casts a shadow on us men who have a RW and makes us look bad. I am sick of hearing from people here "did you see the mail order bride programme?" The programme was nothing more than negative propaganda!

I watched this show today, and I followed Manchester's hints and read up what one of the lead characters had to say about it. I'd like to know what others think as well.

My first impression was this is nothing like what I've experienced in Russia, but I'm sure it's what plenty of guys go through.

But then the editing was too obvious.

Russia did look like a shithole dump throughout the 'documentary'. Yes, some of Russia looks like this, but how did they manage to film in St. Petersburg and make it look like a dull grey city?

The bouncer guy's story made me think. In the film you get the impression that his visit to wife's family in Siberia was nothing but an awkward meeting full of silence and sullen faces. If you read what this guy posted at the Russian Meeting Place, he got plowed with papa-in-law, so drunk that he was slurring his speech, Papa fell asleep on the couch and they could no longer conduct the interviews. What he describes sounds nothing like what we see and alot more like what I've experienced with Russian families. Sure, take any gathering, especially a first meeting that lasts for hours and you can get a few minutes of uncomfortable silent moments for your film. So what really happened that day?

It's true that this guy had his wife take the train for 5 days to Prague and made her pay for it. What a loser. But wait, read what he says online. His wife and mother took the train because the mother refuses to fly. He says his wife put the tickets on her credit card and he's paying for it all right now.

Yes, this guy rushed into a marriage with a girl he just met, and he's not a highly educated or successful man, but you can tell in the film that his wife feels genuinely in love with him, so good for him.

I got the feeling that he approached his wife with a bit of paranoia thanks to boards like this one, hence his allowing his wife to save and spend her own cash for their meetings, just to ensure himself that he was not marrying a gold digger. Or maybe he is cheap. Or maybe relatively he and his wife were making similar amounts of money. You have to consider that a young girl living with her family making 400 bucks a month often has 400 bucks a month in disposable income, while a guy in the US or Europe making 2000 a month before taxes often have close to zero a month in disposable income and debts to pay. I think it's a bit of all the above, but I really don't know.

What is clear is that this girl didn't marry the guy for his money or a trip to the land of knights and fairies, so even though they have a long road ahead of them, I wish them luck.

I agree with muted Manchester (why is he 'muted' and what the hell is that?) that this show was negative propaganda, but it didn't bother me one bit. Apparently two of the lead characters are ok with how they were portrayed onscreen. There certainly was much truth shown, but as with any documentary or reality based show on the television you are watching weeks or months condensened into a few minutes. You need to fill the spaces in between.

In these video, only the first guy seem wrong...

He is dating a RW during 3 year... and he is not able to make some repair in his own home... only a few days before her coming, he is fastly removing all the trash inside the home... once here, the RW stay home when he use his time for drink a lot of beer in the Pub... He never help the RW for clean his pig home !!!

The American one have use the tour system... he have almost find a interesting woman... but at the last moment, she drop him for a more interesting man... Of course, he find a other woman and spend the night with her... but he explain that he have no interest in marry a half hooker... so, he will continue the search...

The London man have nothing wrong... work hard ( two job ), good looking, and seem really in love with his girl... Yes, the girl have pay for the trip to egypt, for the trip for the marriage... but it was her choice... ok, all was fast but he have meet the family who have give the blessing for the marriage... the girl was not very good in English but she was able to speak a little... Simply the parents have with a translator for more complex question and they have appreciate the reply... Why he was seeking a foreign bride... very simple, i think that after two misluck marriage with local women, a logical step is too begin seek at other place...

I don't think that the reportage is bad... it is not the function of the reportage to show the St Peterburg palace... it is not a tourist show but a reportage related to the dating process... if the video show a grey St Peterburg, it is simply because it was grey these day... i don't see the need to show the palace with all the gold statue when the Texas men have not visit them !

Of course, it is only my opinion... the reportage see by a other will lead to other opinion...

You mix two of the girls here... the one with the London man was enough educated... it is the one who was with the other UK man who have use bad vocabulary... and i think that same a educated woman who fall in so sh!ithole will use the same bad vocabulary... raining in the house, the man drink always, the house is very dirty, he refuse to help clean, etc... if i was the women, i have not wait one month before go back and i have certainly used more bad words for these a$$hole.

Jooky,

Manchester has been playing games here at RWD for some time. The post which prompted the muting was yet another attempt to instigate a reaction from several of the members here. Here is the precipitating post -- http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?topic=2808.msg52918#msg52918 - other posts will simply show the fact that he is muted.

We have a warning system here at RWD which allows the Mod Squad and me to tag an account when someone misbehaves. The actions, and the precipitants (if you care to dig a little) are all displayed so that everyone may see what is transpiring.

Thank you for putting up the torrent Bruno!

I feel really  bad for the first guy even tho his house was a mess. He really loved her and was crying at the end of it all. In my opinion I think they where evenly matched. A guy on a scale of 1 to 10 in england he was a 3. In russia she was a 3 at most! Her grill was all fooked up looked like snaggle tooth. She must have been using that money he and the other guy sent her on food as she was way over weight for a russian/ukrainian women. I was shocked at the end to find out she was getting money from two different men.

That bouncer was hard core he met her once and put a tattoo of her name on his back, you all see that? They looked really happy together and I hope they last. He was cheap to see if she was for real, and for that I admire him. I think think he followed the general rules when finding a women in the FSU.

The guy from texas was a fooking tool and I'm glad he got scammed, even the tour guy said not to spend money and his reply in the next segment was "I'll do what I feel is right blah blah" I was cheering when cowboy got scammed out of a cell phone.  At the party is he showing off his house and truck what a low self esteem fookhead. Most of us want a good wife and future and do not use what we have as bait.

Thanks again bruno for posting that, and Dan for keeping up this forum for mature discussions on realationships with FSU women.

Robert
