It is a pleasure to be a part of such an informative forum. I'm 33 and work for the U.S. Government. My curiosity was aroused by a friend who chose to find his wife outside of North America. This process seems to work well for some, I hope to make a trip this spring for a few weeks, although I have yet to determine what country I will visit. I still have a lot of reading to do, but hope to call on the experience of this forums many contributors in the very near future as I begin my search for Mrs. Necromonger.

I wish you the best of luck.

My first advice to you is to go slow, and begin by "dating" girls from other countries.  See if you like them, and the cultural differences you will find.  Some men find these differences attractive, while others find them too much work.

Explore, and see for yourself.

My second piece of advice is begin now by going to an attractive foreign city like Kiev or Moscow and live there a few weeks and meet as my girls as possible.

It seems to me that the opposite of "Meet as many girls as possible" is to do a WOVO which most feel is often a route to disaster.

If our goal is to find a really compatable woman writing one is like trying to win the lottery.

Meeting many is like throwing a dart at stock listings and buying the one it sticks in.

Meeting as many as possible until you meet the one that is truly the woman you will be happy with is more like researching mutual funds and selecting one with a good record.

I am not sure I like my analogy but investing the time in an effort to really do things right does not seem like a foolish route to follow. 

I would be surprised if he feels any need to protect his personal entourage from the past.  Darn, I am envious.   No one ever compared me to Casanova, maybe Barney Fife but not Casanova.
