What bad decisions have you made?

In another thread av8or1 spoke from experience and said that he had made some bad choices or bad decisions in the past...

It's got me thinking... 

Are there any "less obvious" things a newbie should be aware of, and what are the bad choices/decisions that you've made?

I know there's some obvious stuff like falling for beauty and while blind to a girls character, and the sensible stuff like the 10 Commandments, but were there things in your relationships that are, in hindsight, obvious mistakes? 

(I'm not thinking about the usual questions of Tour versus Independent Travel, or decisions involving agencies... I'm thinking more about the real personal decisions that we all have to make).

Oh yea, I have made a couple. The one that is on the top of the list is not having a wedding in Ukraine. I had no idea how happy it would have made her family and friends. It was after we were married last year that the subject was brought up. It was something that could have been easily done with a little extra time , effort and thought on my part. For this I am sorry..
