Mir,
A person who is older than 21 y.o. is considered as an adult person. I did not say A.O. is successful and happy.  If you attentively look at my post you will see there is word –or there. Is a spending time with a beautiful gal not an attractive situation for you? :o

If you don't understand something, why the other person is the idiot?

Was it because you were 45 and looked 55?
By Gawd~!  Mir is back, and stupid as ever.

I will have to expound a bit for his sake,,,

Mir,,,let me 'splain something to you,,,,I'm Anonymous!   Do you think I posted "my picture?"  As my avatar? HeT

That's Mr. Klein you say looks 55,,,, the liberal Times writer who was the original Anonymous until his cover was blown by an expert in writing styles.

I'm not being contary here, but IMHO, think before you post.

It was not your photo but the fact that she examined your date of birth perhaps because you looked older then you had told her.

Hmmm looks like we have interacted somewhere before? You have done a great harm to your cause by calling me stupid. Now I will find who you are and tell your wife who will cut off your balls (but considering what a coward you are she will need a microscope to find them). :D

At the risk of pissin' off the establishment, AO's new wife has the wherewithall to figure this out on her own.  All she has to do is have a look at his passport and look for any D.R. entry and exit stamps.  Compare a few dates, and she'll have a pretty complete picture of AO's prior travels.

If this was a sleeping dog before, it might have been a better idea not to arouse him.

Personally I don't think having a wife who is jealous of past realtionships mean's it is not a good relationship.   I appreciate that he wants to share his past story and look forward to hearing more.   If his wife does find out and cut his throat or Bobitizes him it will make the story much more interesting anyway.

VWRW does an amazing job with her English skills considering she just started learning the language on her own a couple of years ago.

The next three days were mostly spent at the beach resort,
swimming and resting as Ira recovered from her jet lag.

We made a couple of trips into Santo Domingo,
doing shopping and sight seeing.

The DR is a very beautiful place, with the
Carribean and its azure blue waters
and white beaches
serving as eye candy.

And speaking of eye candy...
I had to get used to being with
a beautiful girl. Why?  Because
every guy stared openly at Ira.

And I'm not just speaking of
the natives.  The tourists,
mostly american, stared too.

The men at Ira, with smiles
on there faces.  Their wives
stared at me, with what often
was contempt.

I think they were hoping
that their men
would not
get any ideas!  LOL

*smiles*

The fourth day we made our move.
As pretty as the Santo Domingo
area is, it's a stepchild compared
to the rest of the island.

We moved to the
Intercontinental Hotel on the
main strip, and used it as
a launching pad to our next
stop.

I hired a private plane to
fly us to the northern part
of the DR.  The cost for
the single engine plane and
pilot was a little more expensive
than commercial jet service,
but we were going to a hard to
reach place.  Plus, there's no
comparing the view you get
in such a flight. The pilot was
happy to detour when I asked
him to investigate interesting things
we saw along the route.

He was also glad to surrender
the controls to me;  I flew more than
half the time.  But I was glad to
allow him the pleasure of diving
down into the jungle and landing
on the short dirt strip when the time
came to land.

Santo Domingo in some ways is a hell hole.  So much poverty that is countered by so much wealth.  I wanted to get Ira to a more private place, where we would have simply nature and time together without all the people.

That's why I took us to Samana.

Samana is on the northeast part of the island; a small bay that protrudes into the land.

We made our way by taxi to a tropical paradise.  The place had 20 cottages, made of primitive materials, that sat on the beach of white sand, with palm trees everywhere.  An outdoor cafe served 3 meals a day.

Our relationship was going well.  Ira was loads of fun to talk with, and had many questions for me about the US.  Likewise, I had many things I wanted to know about what it was like living in the Soviet Union and what it was like when it came apart.

Ira knew American music and movies very well.  Our culture had permeated the FSU since the wall fell.  In many ways, Ira did not seem "foreign" to me at all.

She was playful and wanted to please me, doing little things for me that most AW would never think of.

She also loved making love.  Not only 5 or 6 times a day/night, but in interesting ways! I won't go into that, but I will share one memory.

It still sticks with me today, so you know it's very powerful.

As the sun was sinking into the sea to the west, we went for a swim.

Soon, we found ourselves on the deserted shore, and Ira started kissing me and we found ourselves on the sand, with the waves washing over our bodies.

I was a little nervous, but Ira was not shy at all.

And so it happened, like the scene from the movie "From Here to Eternity."

Then she turned me over on my back and rode me.  I'll always have the image of her above me, with the palm trees and coconuts above her, and the sound of the surf.

No one caught us, to my knowledge.

The next morning, I rented a motorcycle and we explored the area.

It was wonderful to have the freedom to be on our own without a taxi.

We climbed mountains on dirt trails and at day's end, we watched the sun set again from high above the sea, sharing a bottle of wine Ira had packed into her backpack.

By Gawd~! Posting pictures might be dangerous!

Remember my "ships that passed in the night comment?"

You see, what I did not 'splain to you is that Ira lives in the US now, with her husband.  So I don't think it's wise to post her picture, because her husband well might be a member at RWD!

Ira, if you are reading this, you better quickly "loose" your passport and that DR entry stamp. ;)  LOL

I know, I know.  I did promise to post some pics of landscape in the DR a few pages ago.

But when I looked for them, they were not backed up, as I remembered.

But I did find pics from the next 2 trips with Ira, to Costa Rica and Ecuador.   If this TR survives that long, I'll post those.  Not of us, but the sights there.

I was liking Ira a lot.  Like me, she was athletic and loved adventure.  I was beginning to see the benefits of a 20 something girl and her energy.  She was becoming my dream companion.

The next day we took a course on scuba diving.  The deal was they would train you one day and take you for two dives the following day.

I had dived before, but only with a resort course certification.  Ira had never dived, but was an excellent swimmer, and I knew she would excel.

And she did.

The following day we did our two dives, and we loved it.  The Carribean is said to be one of the best places to dive in the world, and I believe it.

We saw beautiful fish and an interesting ship wreck.

We both vowed to get our certification, and to dive together around the world.

The newness of our relationship was beginning to wear off, and the true Ira was beginning to emerge.

I learned something about Russian women.  They are stubborn. LOL

I'll share two examples of this.

At dinner, Ira did not like eating with the rest of the guests.  So she told me to move a table out on the lawn so we would have privacy.  I told her "no."

So she picked up her chair and moved it.  Not wanting to create a scene, I moved the table.  I hate to admit it, but she was right about the privacy.  I got dinner benefits and later desert because of her "suggestion."

The next example came the following evening.  Ira was amazed at the stars and how bright and near to us they were. She said in Moscow she could hardly see them.

So she said we should sleep outside under them.

Each cottage was fairly private, with a distance of about 40 yards between them and a distance of about 40 yards to the beach.

Ira wanted me to move our bed out of the cottage onto the beach.  I protested.  But guess what?  I moved the bed.

But once again, her instincts were right, and I did enjoy making love under the stars.

Our poor neighbors  ;)

Sounds like the "true Ira" was just as good as the "brand new Ira."

I apologize for interrupting but I play golf today.....

Page 1 had a RW angle.  Page 2-5 are all about ....well, I could substitute Danish 21-yo, 1980s and Essaouria Morocco and it would be my fling (except at our beach a bunch of young boys came running from the dunes laughing - maybe DR boys are more polite).

So where is the RW angle - some view of her Russian soul?

Please continue with your reminiscing.

After a few more days in paradise, our time was up.
It was time to go home.

And it was time to decide what to do about Ira.
We talked, and agreed that we would both
think things over, and decide if we wanted to
continue our relationship.

To me, it was a no-brainer.  I had
been very happy with Ira.
She was smart, fun to be with,
beautiful, and a great lover.

But I did not want to rush
the decision, so I told her
we should wait before
talking about the future.

We flew to Santo Domingo,
where we flew together to
New York.  It was great
flying together on an
American carrier.

Ira had a transit visa
and was locked up
inside the terminal
in a holding room.

Fortunately, I was able
to stay with her, until it
was time to kiss her
goodbye.
