Serious Question - Hats for Big Heads!
« on: November 25, 2006, 02:21:46 PM »
I know this doesn't seem like a serious question but it's something I'm very worried about.

Let me explain.

I've got a big head, a very big head.  It probably balances out my very big feet and very big hands, but there are special shoe shops and hands... well you can stick them in your pockets.  The problem with having a big head and going into a real winter is that I'll need a real hat, and I just can't find any at home that fit.

The last hat I bought I had to have made, and unless someone can tell me where I can get one of those Ruski hats made immediately on arrival I reckon I'm going to be mighty chilly within a few minutes of getting off the plane.

I could probably get a balaclava, but they wouldn't let me through immigration...  and what sort of girl can develop a relationship with a guy in a balaclava?  ???

Any tips?

OK, it's not an entirely serious question but I thought there was so much serious posting going on in here it was well worth asking one of the less pressing questions that has been bobbing around in my big head.   ;D

Buy A touque! They wear them in the Great White North all the time & they stretch to fit any fathead, Ooops I mean big head, LOL. ;D Once in Russia you can then take your time to get one of them Russian fur hats made to fit your fathead, ooops, sorry again, I mean big head, LOL.
Just jokin' with ya' but seriously, a lot of Russian men wear touques, so you wouldn't stand out at all. Now lets talk about your big feet!!! Just jokin', LOL. ;D ;D
Incidently in Newfoundland a touque is referred to as a 'stocking cap', just a little trivia for ya'. :D

Try google... or giggle!

Good luck... and do enjoy the adventure.

HAHAHAHA....

See,  laughter is much better huh!  ;D

Actually... I took MammaD's advice and used Google...  but only to find out what the heck a torque or stocking cap was.  It's a Beanie!

I've got beanies!

Can't go to the football in Winter without a Beanie even in Oz!

Being a hat size 7 3/4 to 8 myself, I feel your pumpkin-headed pain, Kuna.  But . . . ask, and someone's always bound to know:

I have a narrow head, sort of like Stan Laurel's.
I have a heck of a time because mosts hats are made for perfectly round heads. What works for me are knit caps that can conform to my narrow head. Everyone must have some problem with clothing or we would all be GQ models.
