I have a client/friend who will be landing at Vnukovo airport the morning of April 12th at 9:50am. He needs to be met and taken to SVO II for a 1:15pm departure.

Would any of our distinguished female members from Moscow, or maybe jb's step-son, have interest in greeting this man and if so what would your charge be. Please feel free to private message me or write me at nunya@ix.netcom.com

Thanks.

You can book a taxy from airport or I can book a taxy for your man - they will meet him with a paper with his name and drive where he needs.

Yes, I just called to the company I usually use - it costs 1300 rubls + parking if needed. They have mitsubishi cars.

Fiorella, not sure if it was the best price, but know it is reliable help, my friend/client paid $100 to be taken from Vnukovo to Sho II.

What do you think about this price?

In Russia we used not to think about how much we ALREADY paid because dispersion of prices are rather wide here

So just know next time you may do it for some low price:P (well it will depend on oil price though:?)

I have a driver with a car, Victor Ivanovitch, he has always charged $30 for a trip to and from SVO + parking.  I'd post his phone number to a PM if you speak Russian well enough.  Victor speaks no English.

PS.  Victor is about 75 years old and drives a Volga he bought new in 1956, he never exceeds 40kph and always shifts to neutral on a downhill, so be prepared to spend some time in the car if you use him.

I had merely intended to show a pic of the car, is this better?  Honestly,,, some people just can't recognize humor when they see it.

Fiorella,

I understand you, the M-21 Volga was far advanced for it's time, the Volga "M-21" remained a dream for the 99% of the Russians.  Differently from the "Pobjeda", the performances are "almost" decent (130 km/h), with an improved engine, boosted up to 75 hp, and with an improved lubrification. The coachwork is more pleasant, but, sure, not original (with a typically "american" style). The early versions were equipped with a strange greasing system: a pedal, pressed by the driver, provides to grease the suspensions and other parts. Only defect: the grease in excess is poured...on the road. Today, this is a funny technical feature, but it was quite intelligent and useful for that period!

It looks like a 1956 Ford.... No matter, it was a giant leap for CCCP auto's of the day.  I wish I had one in cherry condition today, it ought to be worth a few rubles in about 90 years.
