Trip Report From Makkin 2006

Hello Everyone,

  I made a trip to Moscow and wanted to share it with you here. I'm new and have never posted so I will do my best to get to know you all and share my experiences.

  Arriving from the states via a stop in Frankfurt I had made my way finally to Moscow where I was to meet my internet girl who is named Anna and she is a short woman with perfect blonde hair in the sense that it's really solid in that color and without yellow streaks and such. She is a wonderful person to talk to on the internet and phone and so far up to this point it's all I've done with her as this is the first meeting.
  I'm leaving the plane and am around the last person off as I'm tired and not in too much of a hurry. My Russian is poor at best and I'm hoping she can help with translation when we meet as it seems she has studied more than myself. Anyway I'm up to the point of passing through the turnstyle when I am told to have a seat by the woman processing passports and such. So I sit on a plastic chair and relax for five minutes and then ten minutes. Soon I am the only person to not clear the passprt check except for a woman about 35 years old and her daughter of five years or so. This woman speaks English so I talk a short bit and we exchange hello and such and she goes through the check point. Meanwhile a military person with the typical military hat is on the phone talking Russian and tells me it won't be long to go through,
  Forty-five minutes later two military men come to the area and stand around in front of me not imposing or anything just standing by and waiting. I'm told I can pass through now and I do so following the the two military men in uniform and skipping declaration on purpose beacause I am late and very late at this point. Don't know what held me up but I'm clear now and I have not gone through customs..lol.
  I reach what is the reception area and there she is. She looks identical to the pictures but actually better and she is all smiles as we hug shortly and go off to exchange money for about fifty dollars exchange. She has a taxi ready and were off to Moscow with snow all over the ground and nobody speaks good English except me but I try some phrases in Russian and they seem to work..lol In the back seat of the cab we sit and try to communicate and I lean towards her to give her a friendly kiss and she pulls back as if I have slightly startleed her at that moment. I log this in my brain and remind myself to be slow and natural and not push anything. If things are meant to be they will happen and if not I will still have a good time no matter what happens.
  The drive takes about an hour and we arrive at the Hotel I've set up for the first few days and I pay the cabbie 20 dollars total for the ride as Anna bobs her head back and forth to pay no more. She seems good with the approach to save me money. She has a sandwich in the small refrigerator in our room as I had instructed the Hotel to let her into the room and allow her to get food or drink if she needs it on my tab. She has charged nothing in the twlve hours she has been there and purchased the sandwich somplace else upon her arrival from the train station and a 17 hour trip to meet me.
  I hope this trip report is not too boring and I will try to spice it up.

  We decide to have a walk around the streets as it is about 4pm in the afternoon and I have a good jacket and no gloves..lol The temperature is zero as I recall and I'm freezing because I'm without my gloves or a hat. Anna finds a place in the underground for me to purchase a hat for ten dollars and I'm better to say the least but determined to stay awak and sleep regular hours here so I am determined to keep moving till I drop out physically.  We return to the hotel holding hands for most of the walk and we feel good together but that cab incident of mine has me thinking of how to be slower on approach and make her feel comfortable. We have been together now about three hours and decide to make the reservation for dinner. and we head out for a great dinner inside the hotel. The hotel has been discounted to 155.00 per night if you wanna call that a discount and it's set up pretty cool. You open your window inside your room to what appears to be the outside of the hotel but it's actually a courtyard area with plants growing everywhere and a tropical setting with live music and dinner,bar area. It's as if your inside a three layered building but the effect is that your outside while inside. Very nice dinner and very nice wine which we had to purchase two bottles of wiine because the first we opened was wrong and tasted terrible. Anna tried for 15 minutes to get it taken off the tab but to no avail and I paid 25.00 extra for nothing..lol I was not too worried but very impressed with her economical strategy.
  After dinner we communicated at best to get a translater from this hotel which lasted about an hour. Our translater was aman about thirty years old and as gay as a gay man could be. Very effiminate and not hiding the fact..lol I asked him if it was difficult being gay in Russia and he said yes as a matter of fact so I was catching on to the little things in communication that are never revealed until arrival at anyplace in the world. I think you know what I mean when someone tries to descibe what things are like but justice is served better from being in the actual place and experiencing it firsthand.
  We did take some pictures after dinner with the musicians who performed at dinner and they were friendly to us Anna laughed and held the guitar as I did and we took different poses. We had a nice first evening together so far.
  In that first seven or so hours she got time to see me use good manners to all people and she studied my body language to the effect that she felt safe with me. I think she did??..lol It was only that first move toward her in the cab that caused me to push forward at a different tac as not to impose myself or custome upon her since she may feel afraid of me in those first few hours. Scared is a bad word as I'm not scary at all and will use the best set of manners I have at all times.
  It was time for bed and we jumped in the same bed as if we had done this before..hmmm De Ja Vu??? A long shower for me and her made the effects of cleanliness apparent and I wondered if this was gonna go like so natural that it would amaze me. As we lay in bed we watched TV for about an hour and tried to communicate but it was not working too good. It's those simple words you seek and can't find them that aggrivate you in times like this. So off with the television and my are around her as we lay in bed with her head on my shoulder. We kiss softly as if we know each other and progress along the lines that adults do...(I will continue later.)

  Hello again,

  Anna is barely five feet tall at best with longinsh blonde hair and a nice body. She has full and beautiful lips that are usually covered with the a perfect lipstick that matches her attire and skin type. Her skin type is white/slavic as many Russia women and she has flawless smooth skin.

  Back in the hotel we shared each other that first night and everything turned out pretty good. She later told me she had not been with a man in five years since her divorce and it was hard to be approached by men for her. It seems men saw her beauty and were hesitant to approach. I recall a time when we were in the underground browsing one of many shops and I watched a man look at her very much to enjoy jer beauty and realized now what she had meant by the before statement. It seemed the man did not want to intrude but wanted to look at her. I doubt he would have had the courage but he was young and he was a fine looking man. I suppose beauty in a woman at times can be daunting?

  After two days at the fore mentioned hotel we moved to the largest hotel in Europe which house up to 6000 guests they say. We were located directly accross from red square and we walked through that area many times. She showed me her old Soviet Passport and I looked at it as compared to her new and different travel passprt. I suppose she had three type travel passports with pictures and such. She is 39 years old and I am a similar and very close age. For thirty=nine years old she really takes care of herself.
  One night on the parade grounds of red square I found a vendor who sold me an authentis military hat with at least 50 types of medals on it. Anna tried to describe what they were all in meaning but I could not understand. The hat and all medals was sold to me for ten dollars. I later bought a wof hat for forty dollars and it is really warm and nice.
  On day 4 we visited the Bloshoi Theater and saw a great Ballet performance that cost me 100 dollars for tickets. I could have gotten them for about forty dollars but I was ripped off in the termes of price there. In the states this would heve been a good deal so nothing was lost as we sat in a private balcony with six other people. The other folks we sat with always asked me if I was having a good time and I replied Da yes yes and I was having a great time and appreciated the way they traeted me. Anna talked with the cabbie at the Bolshoi and I could figure she was glad to be there but was mad that many Russians could not enjoy this theater for price or something?
  During my trip I always tried to buy her a gift here and there but she refused me and most instances. I got into the habit of exchanging a 100 dollar bill and giving her twrnty of if she would take it. She would then buy me something with the money. In the middle of the trip I made sure she understood that I was paying for her train ticket and spending money both ways from her home to Moscow she agreed and we went to train stsation and bought return trip to her town for the price of only 29 dollars which she paid. I later follded american money on the bed that amounted to round trip and food and extra for the trip she made. She shook her head yes as if she was grateful and understood in a kind manner.
  On this trip I used all the best manners I had but as you might imagine there were times when people thought I to be a bit strange as when the two Russian soldiers practically ran from me or us upon me sorta of saying hello..lol I brushed his wool sleeve to get the dirt off as we were standing close and he thought nothing till he looked over at ne and realized I may be the enemy...lol

So far, interesting and well presented. More please. Sounds as if you stayed at the Royssia but  I thought that it had been closed last year. Also...you are lucky that she hung around for you at the airport. She may have reasoned after not seeing you that  you had missed your flight to Moscow. Where did you travel from that would have you transiting in Frankfurt? So far, a great report. Thanks for sharing your adventure.

Share a room together or share each other? Makkin, you mentioned she doesn't speak English well. How was your communication before the trip? Congrats on getting tickets to the Bolshoi Theater. I always wanted to go there but never did in my two times in Moscow. One usually needs to reserve tickets months ahead of time.

Makkin, I think you made some dating mistakes with your RW that could hurt you. Since this is a trip report I won't give you my opinion on what they were unless you ask. But thanks for sharing, I'll be reading till the conclusion.

  Pee Wee the trip originated in Houston and flew directly to Frankfurt. The planes changed in Frankfurt to Moscow. Thanks for the comments.

  I'm sure I made some dating mistakes but we all do at times right? Do you mean cultural mistakes or just mistakes?

  The hat thing was really stupid of me and the glove thing was something I brought with me but did not take with me out the hotel door..lol I did not realize the temperature was so cold but I soon found out.

  Yes that was the hotel you speak of and it's easy to get lost in it as the buildings are so familiar and such. Must have been 10 or more restaurants inside. Not sure if it's closed now or what.

  The Hotel itself was nice and every morning Anna made the bed even as I told her that she did not have to. She is one of those people who likes everything in order and clean,organized,etc...
  We always ate at this hotel for 90% of our meals as she liked a certain restaurant that had a fish aquarium and she seemed to love the fish. I had my first bowl of buckweat here and it was good. The average price for meals was cheap at around 10-15 dollars and she just liked to eat here all the time.
  Late at night I would go to a late restaurant and get ham and eggs before going to bed. I liked to eat late because I was all alone before closing and the two ladies who ran the place were very nice. I became a regular up to a point where the prostitutes would drop by every night and ask if I wanted any company in English. I would always reply "No Thanks" and be polite to the working girls.
 
  The first night after television was the first night of sex between us or love-making as I would properly descibe it. We had an adult relationship that involved an interesting twist or two from my perspective. You know how you kiss a woman?? I supose I asked that wrong but anyway........ I kiss softly and sometimes aggressively like most people but Anna did not have experience in this area. It seemed she knew what a kiss was but not so much the open mouth type of kiss. French is a proper way to descibe it. She would use about a tenth of an inch of her tongue and and French the corners of your mouth in a restricted manner or from one who has never experienced such kissing. The thoughts run through your mind in the heat of the moment but to alter what she feels is natural would be unfair in my mond so I suited her with my approval. As time passed in the meaning of days she evolved to a different approach but that's neither here or there but something that I have never experienced with a woman.
  Going underground where the subway is was always fun because there were always musicians and different types of people. I enjoyed looking at the women as they are beautiful and so many of them. One day we were entering the subway train and we actually got seperated to the point that she was on the train and and I was watching her ride away. I pointed to my chest and and a bench as to where I would be if she could come back. I motioned all you can imagine as to that communication. So I sat there on the bench and a woman came and sat next to me speaking not a word but reading a book beside me.....I was nervous just a bit about being in this situation but I knew if I went up-ground I could find the hotel as it was so big and all. In about 30 minutes Anna was back and laughed about it as we continued our day.
  The parks were cool and lots of things to see. On one visit Anna lost part of her fur from her leather jacket sleeve and she was upset to we walked all over the place looking for it. We never found it but a young girl maybe 16 or 17 years old actually found it and looked for us finally finding us sitting and returned it to Anna. She was soooo happy as this was her special leather and fur jacket that was extremely nice.

  The communication before the trip was with her tranlation device that actually transferred my letters to Russian and vice versa. It worked pretty good but some words did not work so good. On the phone she must have been reading and it sounded okay but in person it was the blind leading the blind.
  The second tranlater even confused me more because she translated ina afashion that seemed to not convey much. Translator asks me: Anna is not doing anything this week how about you? I reply: I'm here on Holiday-Vacation and will be sight seeing. Tranlator say's: Okay Anna would like to to stay this week if your not doing anything. I reply Okay...lol

   Yep life was good on this trip and before you could shake a stick at something we were a couple or maybe a thing but all in all we were together and we were aware of what we were doing or so it seemed.
   I exit the bathroom one morning after having showered and feeling fine when Anna moves into the bathroom she points to my wet towel on the floor. She mentions something I don't understand but I figure easily it's about the towel being on the floor. I illustrated with body movements that the towel fell to the floor from the metal hanger and the result what not me placing the towel on the floor. Hmm this was meant to be a red flag I'm thinking or was it? It was the first time she had made such a play in the typical female way of things..lol.
  We get ready and head out the door and as I place my arm around her she smiles and all is good. She is soooo beautiful and I use the 12 year old trick on her that kids do at times. I walk with her with my arm around her and lift my leg to kick her in the butt gently with my right foot coming around both our backs to get there. She looks left and around left expecting someone from behind her has done this and then to the right side she looks and finishes by looking into my eyes...I do it again softly and she understands..lol  I would swear that she has never seen this before.
  I go to a phone center and we use the internet as well as the phones. I am amused that a girl is inside this business with her dog and the dog is not small. The dog runs around normally and nobody minds at all. I coex the dog to me and pet it and it likes me so the owner girl has to attempt to coax it back but Im having fun coaxing it back and forth and the dog is loving it. The girl is good natured about it and finally gets her dog as I stop pestering the situation.
  Anna looks at internet and reminds me of  Marka in Seattle as he is the one who wants to get her to the states. Hmm I think I missed something but I understand Marka and I understand internet and she has descibed the situation from before I came and now I point to internet and say Marka and laugh she says some things and laughs. He's in Seattle and I'm in Anna's company but that's par for the dating scene I suppose?
  I met Anna on a weird site that I somehow found without trying. I sent her an email and it got to her. This website had about 13 girls total but I decided to write. It was free and cost nothing so I can't complain about that part. I'm just totally amazed that I wrote her and she answered and that was that.
  The 5th day was getting closer to my leaving and the tension was about to start building and we both knew it. We had become very easy with each other and we were setting a routine that was very easy as well. Her kissing was a great pleasure and her passion was great and gentle and fun. I was organizing my things just a tad mentally as we all do and getting ready for the dreaded last day and night where we would have to split up and do the goodbye's. My heart hurt for all those reasons because the situation was good and we both wanted to stay together longer and that was just a fact.
  I suppose the pain of leaving was 10 times harder than ever arriving for me and this was mainly because we could not communicate well enough to establish a plan for ourselves and our relationship. I had to remember to set the time for departure to the airport and also set the cab up for her to get to the train station and also allot more money for her in case of any problems. This was all my thinking and not hers unless she was thinking it and I was reading her mind? I kinda feel like we both were new to this big city and we both thought exit strategy so maybe our minds melled in that way.

  Yea that buckwheat was good and wholesome. Kinda like eating wheat straight or something. It was cooked like rice and was brown and large kernals that I ate with some meat and other items. Man it was tasty but I can't find it here..lol

  Sex in general is a topic we are all interested in I suppose so I will share the other twist with you at this time.
  Continually flying off the bed has never been a problem for me but it was with Anna. It seemed we could not stay on the bed. I literally hit the floor numerous times and her head and the headboard met on many occasions. She suffered not and at times the headboard was the reason we stayed on the bed. Strange things happen at times but I guess you had to be there. The kissing turned to platinum and the contact was great but out there looming was the final day.
  I awoke the final day early to find my suitcase packed already by Anna. Damn.... How did she do that without waking me up? It was 5am and she had folded all my clothes into the suit cases and the items I purchased and also had dropped all her paperwork at the bottom of a suitcase which I would find later at home. She had stored all her legal copies of divorce and things needed for the fiancee visa.
  We headed to the lobby bar/coffeeshop and I got pounded 3.50 for coffee on the way out. We had our cab reservation and we moved out to the airport. Upon arrival we wnt inside and she followed me as far as she could but watched and waited for my last glimpse. I came out of line three times to go back and see her and she was crying. I tried to kiss the tears away but it did little good. The tears were really big ones that she tried to hold back and when they jumped out they had an originality of there own. I think maybe she was trying too hard not to cry and when a tear escaped the force and size was abnormal. I really did wash her face with those tears and also wiped them clean.
  I passed through the checkpoints but had trouble again because they asked for my declaration form when I arrived. I never went through that so I simply shrugged my shoulders and told them I didn't have one. They were not pleased but let me go.
  On the flight back home I get a man who asks too many questions sitting next to me and as usual he wants to know specifics of my trip as if he were my brother. I talked with him and made it clear that I am a good American and a patriot. This seemed to make him happy as if that was what he wanted to hear from me.

Sounds like another reminder how important it is to share a language (well for most of us anyway).

A couple of quick notes:  French kissing refers to oral sex in the FSU so don't try to begin a discussion about it unless your communication skills are very good.  RW have a real thing about cleanliness and will typically shower or bathe before and after sex.  It can be a little strange when you are getting passionate and suddenly she stops and says she needs to go have a shower, but it's a good sign, not a bad one.  the other thing about the towel on the floor.  The floor in their view is the epitomy of filthiness.  You don't drop anything on it, you don't sit on it, you barely walk on it if you can avoid it.  It was a big cultural blunder to do the trick of the kick in the ass because your shoes should never touch her clothes.

Yes.

Makkin...you have to be careful.  Anytime a woman brings documents to a first meeting, it is a red flag.  You need to slow down and take your time.  Insist on English lessons for her, and pay for them (make sure you get a fair price for the lessons).

Meet her at least a couple of more times before talking marriage (at least she should have good enough English to talk about marriage).

If she is indeed a scammer, she will grow tired of waiting and move on.  It may break your heart, but in the long run, it would be the best thing for you.

  Coclusion of sorts,

  I arrived home and unpacked the suitcase to find her papers at the bottom and all information I needed.
  We continued to communicate and about a month after the visit her son attempted suicide over a girl. He used the car in the garage method and suffered from being in a coma for about 4 days if I recall exactly. Over a few months he made a complete recovery as I'm told but at that point we drifted apart or rather I drifted apart because of the situations between us. I helped he a little but her job makes very good money and she has an automobile as well as another small business of her own. She's not rich but for her area she is well suited financially.
 
  Next month I go to Ukraine. Anna and myself still send emails and talk about things but as far as the son goes he is the priority with her and his life is very important to her. She would some over in a heartbeat but thinking hard on that would involve being apart from him for periods of time..etc..

  I admit in all honesty that she was and is a wonderful woman but the red flags did appear and as you noted I made some mistakes along the way but in actuality she never SHOWED me I made those mistakes or was tolerant towards me..lol

  My co-workers(Physicians) are married to Ukrainian girls and they have been for 3 and 2 years. They seem to be very happy about things at present but then again one never really knows about other people's dealings with married life and such.

  I recall a conversation with a co-worker in regards to Viagra and warned against the use due to sudden drop in blood pressure. This person already had slightly high BP and I insisted he think about it and realize it would probably cause a spat of severe low BP. I 'm not sure what he did but in any case he knew about the reactions etc...and I don't know if he prescribed himself.

  We will be in Kiev,Odessa and near Khersen (sp) on this trip as we are seeking sponsorship for a badly burned child to come to UTMB for free medical treatment at the Shriners Hospital. We see no problem having car washes and such things for the airline tickets and we will all chip in for the other needed finances.
  Hopefully I will learn a lot on the trip but the child's welfare is most important here rather than my dating women so that takes a backseat on this trip.

  Yes Mark or Marka is the man who she talked about on internet before we met in person and how he was gonna get her to Seattle. She had mentioned how he would get her there without visiting here in Russia. Even I knew that would be a stretch and I told her so.
  Marka seemed to be newer to this scene than myself at the time but he wrote her a lot and possibly still does?

Her packing her paperwork in your suitcase was a red flag but I suspect you two talked about doing this before you arrived and it came to no surprise. Knowing that you're going to get married, having sex the first night was natural for both of you two. At first I thought you trying to kiss her in the taxi on the first day ever meeting was a dating mistake but if she was to be your fiancee when you arrived, it would be expected to some degree. I remember a guy coming onto a forum, said he married a woman on his first visit in Uzbekistan and took her virginity. He and his now wife planned this before his arrival. He can proudly say that he taught his wife everything she knows.... in bed.

  When I planned the trip and met her no talk of marriage was spoken of except in the text of how it would be great to find the right person. I never moved down that path or asked for her hand at any time but we shared enough information with each other to have this be a posibility. She was definantly in a hurry about things with the paperwork and all being put in my suitcase but I really thought about these things after my return home.
  I suppose that it would be easy to get her here. Let me re-phrase that...lol. I suppose it would be easy to apply for a visa but if she came over and it didn't work then I would look back and wonder why I was in such a hurry......Things happen in life and the feel of her just didn't make a good fit or good feeling to me to continue the relationship.
  I think for myself that I'm gonna have to meet at least three times and meet the relatives and such things before I go to the next step because spent money can be replaced but broken hearts and feelings and time wasted are harder to replace I will go slow I'm thinking.

  Now I'm getting paranoid after reading the other areas of the boards in regards to GCG and such.
  I'm literally starting to think harder and harder about these things and it has me almost preparing a battle plan that could still go wrong and very wrong at that..lol
 
  Seems that I was lucky in not going the next step with Anna or was I? I am sure I'll never know tha answer to that but I feel slow is good in regards to all this dating and marriage in the FSU,CIS,breeding grounds for marriage.

  As I read that thread about GCG I could not help but feel sorry for the situation Bruno has had to endure. He's seems like a really nice man and one with a lot of experience as well as a proven history of experience. My heart goes out to you Bruno but you seem tough and still objective,optimistic,caring,and able to pick up the pieces of your still great life.

  I'm so scared at this point that I feel as if I have just walked through a door of a building and am only now noticing the various doors that I never saw before..lol EXIT,ENTRANCE,SMALL DOOR,and The DOOR TO HELL>>LOL

  Well I'm gonna be looking for a really nice winter coat/dress coat on my visit next month. I want a real FUR collar with possibly FUR sleeev area. Does anyone know of a reasonable place to look for jackets/coats in the Odessa area?

I don't know if you made a mistake.  If she was really crying uncontrollably at the airport, she probably liked you a lot.  (I would think it's hard to fake that.)
