Introduce Myself

Hello,

  I came onto the board on the 6th of February and did not properly introduce myself so here goes.
 

  I'm a male which is already obvious and live in Texas,USA with my daughter of the teenage years. She is my love in life and I'm single at this time with no serious relationship. Seems most of my time is spent working with those type things to bring food to the table and all.
  I really am glad to have found this site because it's full of information and helpful things for almost anyone at any level of this process.
  I'm divorced for nine years and have already visited Russia which I descibed in the trip report section. I will be visiting Ukraine very soon and am getting ready to leave as we speak. I hope to learn a lot on this trip and help a burned child get sponsorship to UTMB in Galveston,Texas where he can get the free and excellent medical attentioon afforded to all children in need.
  My friend will be with me on this trip and he's been burned but this should help in the meeting of the child because his experiences in this topic may help the child feel at more ease and have many things in common. Actually my friend had the idea for sponsorship and I obliged the idea. It will cost us an additional 205 for the one way ticket to Odessa fro Kiev but that's okay as it's money well spent. We will then return to Kiev by train and depart Ukraine to Amsterdam. In reality my friend seeks a Ukrainian relationship but is finding it difficult. Since he has been burned it's hard for him to get many responses from ladies and he understands the situation and all. In any case we shall enjoy this visit and learn things.  The child we visit will probably gain from our visit so it's all a good happening no matter what happens.
  I enjoy sports and love the DALLAS COWBOYS..LOL I do not like the San Francisco forty-niners but wont say I hate them..lol I regard Steve Young as a great role model and one who is the only reasons why I can tolerate watching that team play football..lol. The Houston Astro's are my baseball team and I go three or four times a year. My life goal is to sit in the Diamond section on Miniute Maid Park where the food is the best and free and you feel like a movie star..lol So far my seats have been two rows from that section and I'm getting closer. I cannot see spending 500 dollars for a ticket so I may never sit there..lol
  I have traveled to many countries in life and they include..Australia,New Zealand,Fiji,Caymen Islands,Honduras,Jamaica,Mexico,Canada,England,Ireland,Scotland,France,Germany,Russia,Belgium,Netherlands,and a few more..lol
  I have nine more states to visit here in America to make fifty and Hawaii and Alaska are done. I need to see North Dakota,Maine,and the others in the area of the east coast.

  I apologize for putting up so much boring information but I could'nt resist..lol

 Seems you got a bit of a travel bug! Good luck with the upcoming trip and especially with the child.

 Perhaps you should have your friend join here as well. I'm a bit concerned when you say: "Since he has been burned it's hard for him to get many responses from ladies and he understands the situation and all." I don't quite understand this so perhaps you, or better he, could clarify.

It is possible to buy a rtn air ticket from Kiev to Odessa for $42 so I don't know why you are spending an additional $205? Unless it is business class.

 My friend who has been burned has joined an agencey and is in contact with the owner on a regular basis. As soon as I talk to him I will relay the name of the Agencey to this thread.
  He has had numerous responses from his pictures and profile and most of the girls have written him and been very honest about his physical situation. Most are very nice but tell him up front that they doubt they can get past the appearance etc.. At least they are honest as he puts it.
  The last time I spoke with him at his home he showed me pictures and profiles of a couple ladies and they look to be interested. The have not skirted the issue and have been honest as well.
  My friend has had girlfriends and a few months back her broke it off with his girlfriend as she called him night and day and at work. Seems he was not too happy with that..lol They had your normal relationship including all things that close couples do with and for each other. She seemed a bit possesive most of the time so he would end up doing her social schedule while we wondered what hole in the ground he had fallen in as we seldom saw him during those months.
  I mentioned to him three months ago that I was heading to Ukraine in early March and he thought about it and called me and added himself to the list. He did all the tivckets at 783.00 which includes medical insurance as well as cancellation insurance. The part of getting round trip tickets to Odessa for a much better price will have me checking as I just called him as I write and did leave a message.
  Getting back to the burn situation. The man he's working with at this agencey has mentioned to him something about how people used to send burned or scarred people to there own towns and living areas as they were seperated from general population etc... This has me thinking? I should get his name as soon as possible and post it here along with the name of the agencey.

  "Since he has been burned" is what the agencey owner/girls have said and I'm only repeating what he has been told in a manner that seemed polite yet direct. I assume that his being burned does have an effect just how severe is yet to be answered?

Okay, I understand now (I think) that you were speaking about the physical burns and not the emotional burns. I took it as related to the emotional so it took on a different meaning. Good luck to you both I hope that this works out to be a fullfilling trip in all ways.
