Hi everyone, my name is Coogan...
« on: February 17, 2007, 11:12:30 AM »
I'm a 41 year old male and I'm single, never been married.  I make decent money, but am not rich.  I'm a professional.  I live in the South East of the U.S.  I'm in decent shape and am very young looking. I know this isn't a "profile" for people to look at for dating, but I thought I'd give a little background.

After what seemed to be the 5000th date (Valentine's Day, no less) where it turns into "just friends", I've decided there is something wrong with what I'm doing.  I've been dating the wrong people.

I've had many people tell me I'm a good looking guy, great personality, etc, and yet, it has been pretty much the same story.

I am on here looking for information, to make friends, to make contacts, and to understand better what my prospects are for finding the person I want to spend the rest of my life with.

Thanks for taking a look.

Welcome Coogan. Have a look around and then decide if this is for you or not.
If you want to proceed, make sure you are ready. Ready to make plans, ready to travel, ready to spend money on the process. Then follow the standard practice: write, call, visit, visit again  etc..

If you want to knoe the how-to's read and do not forget the wiki sections.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Coogan:  This pursuit can be a pretty nice horse to ride, but as with anything to do with horses, there is a deal of horse**** floating around on the subject.

Go to the FAQ section here and read it end to end.  It really only takes a while and then a good deal of the basics you need to make a start are locked in.

Thanks for the replies.

I actually have been reading the FAQs and the blogs and parts of the other forums after I posted my introduction.

I'm a descendant of Polish, Swiss, and German immigrants (and not that long ago, either!).  Does anyone know of sites dedicated to Polish women?

Coogan,

Welcome to RWD!  I'm not sure of sites for dating Polish women but you could google it and I'm sure you'd find some (if not only conventional local dating sites).

I wanted to add that you should be aware that dating and marrying a FSU woman isn't easier than dating a woman in the west, in fact some would say it's harder.

If you're having problems dating women at home you might want to look within.  In your original post you said you've been dating the "wrong people" but maybe you're dating technique is a part of the problem???

Do as much research here as you can and I'd suggest once you get on the ground it'll be like someone switched on the light. This is a great place to prepare but nothing can replace a visit.

Best of luck!

Kuna

The board probably won't hold that against you....................for the moment. ;D  It seems to be quite a mottled crew here. ::) I have a fair percentage of Deutz in me also. You can't choose your relatives, but you can choose other things.................choose carefully with women and advice. Both can bring you undone pretty quick if you make a bad selection.;)

Thanks all!

And Kuna, believe me, I have analyzed everything I'm doing.  I believe the problem lies in that women my age for whatever reason do not want, consciously or subconsciously ( and obviously this is not all of them but it seems to be the majority of the ones I date), to be with anyone or possibly are looking for the one person who is "better" than what they have at the moment.

Then again I could be completely wrong.   :)
