I guess I'll be following along with KenC here as this topic has given me some sentimental moments as well. And it is one of the wonderful things about RWD!

These are really good people here. In the two years this board has been live I know more people who I know I could count on if I needed serious real advice than in the many years of these boards that I was a part of before this. I've met a few folks here, talked to a few more on the phone, and truly hope to meet many more in the coming weeks, months, and years.

Yes, it is a family in its own way but I also know that I have made a few friends and feel that there are a few more that I would be honored to call a friend.

I think I need a hankie now..... <sniff, sniff>  :)

I thank Dan, Jet and others that were involved making  RWD. I remember speaking to Jet about it at the beginning. We all share a common interest and bring many different experiences and personalities to the RWD forum. I feel Honored to know and speak with many of you. Wether we agree or disagree. Yes Ken.Elena,KenC,Vaughn, I/O,AJ,Kuna,JB, and yes Turboguy and VWRW along with many others I did not mention. I DO CONSIDER YOU FRIENDS AND AM HONORED YOU FEEL THE SAME WAY. As I have discussed with Jet and Ken I would like for all of us interested to have a RWD get together,
I think if we plan in advance we could make this happen especially on a cruise ship in the beautiful Caribbean where everthing is included and we all still can can have our private time with our wives.
I know we would have a great time.

Install a Soviet-era ironing board that weighs a ton, and always collapses the wrong way to ensure personal injury.

Make sure your brushes a made of twigs. (good for getting into corners without getting right down).

A most excellent idea. I wonder if we are too far out to start looking at a New Years cruise? That would be truly special!

My wife has been bugging me for years to go on a cruise,,, (I've always begged off,,, "Honey,I was in the Navy, I've done all the cruises I can stand")   But I'd go on that one.  It'd be a hoot.

Ken ,JB and everybody. I spoke to Derick and we need to determin how many days. I had to start somewhere so I told Derick 7 days. Ken that is the New Years Cruise it leaves December 30th. The ship he recommends is the triumph check with the carnival cruise site http://www.carnival.com
The triumph is well appointed with a different European themes. We thought this would be nice especially for the woman that have not traveled so much. The price is around $700.00/person That price will get better the more people join. As it is I think that is a very good price I have never been disappointed with what Derick has done for me in the past. Please if there are any suggestions please feel free to recommend.
MAYBE WE SHOULD MAYBE START A SEPARATE THREAD FOR THE RWD NEW YEAR CRUISE FOR 2008

I think that's an excellent idea.  I'm sure my wife will have lots of questions.  Clothes,  shoes, handbags, accessories,,, you know, the usual girl stuff.  I will only need to know where the bar is.

Yes, start the thread.  If VWRW has her paperwork far enough long we will go.   One thing we might want to find out is if the ports of call would create any problems for the gals still traveling on a Russian Passport as far as entry visas.

I have done a couple of cruises on Carnaival and they are excellent.

Chelchov,

I have found the Russian web sites but with pictures: Russian style - Terem  :)

http://www.gallerym.ru/index.php?mid=65

http://dom-ros.ru/projects/kottages/zav_terem/

I think  a Finnish home with  the elements of Russian style Terem is an interesting combination  :)

Thank you a lot, Olga!  Great pictures...   :)

I'm bookmarking those Russian websites so I can take a look at them later.

It seems that those pictures have an interesting combination of old fashioned and modern...
