If Richard needs/cares to know an approximate total figure, we could set up a poll with various choices (I'm in for $50, $100, etc.).

However we go about this I think it would be good to keep the giver and the amount anonymous. Many folks do not want or like to advertise the amount they give and if someone cannot give as much they should not feel "less than" for doing what they can to help.

No specific ideas as to how but think it would be better to do it as a lump sum than as little transfers.

My business is tanking, you guys wanna help me out too?  :)  Just kidding, I didn't want to ignore this thread because I think Richard is deserving of our help, and I'm glad to see you guys stepping up, I wish I could help, but I am also having some severe financial problems of my own.

Richard, maybe the marriage industry isn't as profitable as it once was, might be time to think of something else, and I'm sure Canada misses you  :)  but I understand about having to wait for your wife to immigrate and having to start over in a new career is scary, I'm trying to avoid that one myself.

I have never exchanged posts with you or had any kind of dialogue, but you strike me as one of the "good guys" and I always appreciated that you gave out advice without trying to shill your business here.  Good Luck to you.

Richard takes Paypal at his site Tver Angels http://tverangels.com/membership.shtml

We could sign up for memberships without utilizing the benefits. The price of memberships are along the $50, $100, $200 line. All we need to do is make sure Richard is able to access the money, not the scum bag boss.

Don't forget Money Gram. I have used WalMart for that. It is only $9 to send verses Western Union the most expensive way to send money. Ken has got some good ideas on the previous page. Also it might be a good idea to send out some PM's to others that know Richard and don't post here as much and direct them to this thread. For long range if Richard doesn't mind we could offer our opinions on what he might consider.

Tver Angels and job that was lost are two completely separate entities. No connection.

Very elegant idea, BillyB (provided some unhitched type does not take advantage of that to grab a wife or two) ;D.

Been away for two days, and I find Richard's back against
the wall...  I had to skim, limited time, but my heart's in this
too. Will the funds help him recoup the lost visa, allowing
him to remain there with V?

Ken, you sure Tver Angels and the bad guy are totally
separate? I vote we hear from Richard again before proceeding.
Regardless, if he'll accept a helping hand, I'm in.

TverCowboy, speak!

I will be happy to help also but lets do our best to find a way to get the money to him without hugh fees for the transfer.   No sense having money he needs go to some inflated transfer process.

I agree the next step is to wait for Richard.   Maybe we can co-ordinate it in the chat room or by pm.

A friend of mine here in TX has just sent Richard a sum through his web site's PayPal account.

I'll be doing the same after I get some coffee in me.

$9.46 to send up to at least $500 by MoneyGram. They are able to be picked up at any number of banks overseas. From what I understand all banks accept this as MoneyGram wires the money to the bank at the moment the person giving the account number with matching name passes it on to them. There is a small deduction of received money by the receiver from the bank. It is not allot from what I was told. I understand WU does the same but has much higher fees to the sender.

You can count me in as well, I remember getting stuck in Saudi Arabia and if not for the help of friends i would have been in real bad shape, I had a Saudi partner that did a similar thing to me!
I am just starting a new business so money is a little tight, but I'm sure i could scrape up something
Your Mom is so dumb that she tried to minimize a 12 variable function to a minimal sum of products expression using a karnaugh map instead of the Quine-McCluskey Algorithm.

RWD members collective.  You all, well know my thoughts regarding agencies, but I admit they have their place and purpose.  As is clearly seen here, there is a human being in the centre of each one and just sometimes it is that human being who needs some help.

I've conveyed some personal thoughts to Richard which will remain private, but two things are occuring to me as this unfolds.  The guy needs help whether he wants it or not and it won't hurt any of the board to provide some of that in some way shape or form.

The bigger picture seems to me that Richard's business is yet to reach the point of enough viability to support he and his wife without other income.  We have all been through that at some stage.

The members can do two things.  Feed the man a fish AND help him to cast his fishing net wider.  Feed a man a fish and he lives for a day, help him fish successfully and he lives a lifetime.

I suggest that regardless of whatever direct assistance is given to resolve the short term crisis, that a genuine effort is made by ALL members to help Richard "Ramp Up" his business.  Simply make contact with anyone you think may be considering the pursuit of a Russian partner and emplore them to pay for membership or other services provided by Richard.

Think about it please, but more importantly DO SOMETHING.  For those not in a position to assist directly, it will cost nothing to contact a few people and encourage them to use Richard's paid services.

I would also suggest that  if the short term crisis can be resolved, anyone going near that area of Russia in the near future should employ Richard as guide/assistant/translator or whatever (If he is willing of course) and pay him a decent figure.  Forget about Russian prices, pay what you would for decent personal services at home.
