My trip to Lviv !

Hola guys, I will be leaving April 5th. Had a question...

I am going Atlanta to Chicago to Poland to Lviv.
Does anyone know if my luggage will go straight to Lviv or do I need to collect it in Chicago? The flight from ATL to CHI is on American Airlines....thanks!

Did you purchase complete round trip ticket from AA? If the connecting flights are with airlines that are in a partnership with AA, then it most likely will make it all the way. If you booked the segments of the flight seperately, then I would check with each airline to see if they will automatically transfer luggage to next flight.

Also since you are going from ATL to ORD to Poland, do you have a couple hours between your arrival at ORD and your departure to Poland? I have had in the past, luggage not arriving at my destination in Europe on the flight I was on, and had to wait for the next flight to bring it in. Problems arise getting luggage on plane with short turnaround.

No, not from AA but from Orbitz; complete. I will be on AA then LOT and LOT again.

You should be fine with 1.5 hours at ORD. No you will not have to collect luggage in Poland since you are on LOT flight to Ukraine. I should have said Lviv in my last post.

If there is any kind of bad weather in chicago and flights are being delayed you had better plan on your luggage arriving late.  They are not partner airlines so the companies can always blame each other if your bag is late.

That is from personal experience.  You can ask LOT at the gate in Chicago about your luggage getting on the plane but that may or may not help.

1.5 hrs for a layover in ORD may prove short if winter blows in.  Make sure you pack 1 or 2 days worth of clothes in your carry on.  Otherwise bon voyage!
