USCIS and electronic filing
« on: March 28, 2007, 06:41:26 AM »
I am wondering why we have to complete the same items on all the forms if USCIS already has the names and dates of birth on file.

Does electronic filing eliminate the need to constantly have to enter the same data?

In my office we only have to code what is changing or add additional information. Everything is on a database.

If all the forms are in the same folder, why have to repeat my name and date of birth on every form?

Where I work we are trying to go paperless.

Always been kinda leery of electronic filing. For the applications we file on a recurring basis, they require additional stuff anyway, so why not send it all in at one time and be done with it. I do find it mildly amusing that they currently have 9 sets of Lil's fingerprints and 11 photographs on file which have been collected over the past 3 1/2 years and yet we can renew our D/Ls through the mail reusing the photos taken at DMV up to 10 years ago.
