K1 Visa allowances

I'm bringing over my girlfriend and have completed most of the visa paperwork.She has tickets to fly into Dulles,then Norfolk, Va. My question is will Immigration let her out in  D.C. for me to meet her since she wants to  visit some friends, or will they not let her out of the secure area until she reaches her final destination in Norfolk, Va.? - Len

I would think that once she clears through customs at Dulles....she is free to travel anywhere within the continental U.S.

The first port of entry is where she will be inspected and actually enter the United States. Dulles it is. Anything else is domestic.
