Sorry, should have specified.  I wasn't married to the ex in question.  I did try to work things out with her, but it was  a no win situation.  I saw my faults in the relationship, but she refused to see hers.  If I had something that she didn't like, she wanted me to get rid of it.  Like, here's an example, I have a pet rat.  She wanted me to get rid of it, because she didn't like it.  What difference did it make?  She didn't live with me and I didn't expect her to play with it.  I'm glad that we didn't have any children.  She never wanted any, or marriage for that matter.  It was just ten years wasted.  So, I tried, now I'm doing this.  I want marriage and a family.

Yeah Phantom,  for some women the Pet Rat could be a dealbreaker.  Probably best to get that Pet Rat out in the open pretty early with the RW's you may write to so that you don't waste much time.  Some women don't like Rats and... some do.

Yeah.. especially when they feel the pet is getting more attention than they do...  I tried explaining the effect a wagging tail can have on men and that she should try it next time I come home.. (this was to an ex German GF).

Pets don't really seem to have the same ranking in life in FSU as they do in the west.. just IMHO.

Pet rats, pet snakes, multiple tattoos, piercings, guns, skulls, trailor parks - those are the kind of things I strongly believe the majority of FSU women would be looking to avoid.  So, if they fit you I suggest you clean them up and never mention them prior to going to the FSU.  Of course there are exceptions to the above, but believe me, the majority of FSU girls feel the same.   They are a very conservative society.
