T,

Alexey speaks English, but he was not able to provide me with transportation services earlier this year because of his old car.  So, I am not even sure if he has resolved his car issue or if he is still in this business.  He sent me a list of services he provides and the associated cost; he charges $55 for meeting you at SVO2, and taking you to the train station, vice versa.  He will stop by the local store and help you get foods and drinks you need while travelling in the train.  But, if you speak some Russian, I now someone who may be able to help you at a fraction of the cost.

Wow, I did not realize hotels were so much by the air port.

Right now the plan is to get to moscow 19;30 maybe an hour or two of imigration and baggage, then I just need a place for the night. Next morning I expect to go to the trainstation and travel to next destination..

I emailed the Zina lady to see if she can pick me up, now I am still looking for a room, I did not realize that vega place was way out there.....but is it in the direction of the train station?

Jeez let me ask a very basic question, what is the exchange rate rubbles to dollars?
Seems like it would be a lot of "Head math" every time you buy something to know how much it is costing in dollars. In Ukraine is was basically five to a dollar, which was not so bad.

Corp and Tguy,

Correct email for Alexei K. is:"Alexei Konychev" alexei.moscow@softhome.net

Tguy, he told me that he did not get your email...  He replied same day to my query.

Zina is good for transfers also..  I know persons that have used her transfer service and they speak well of her..

Wish I was there,   I have to wait until 26 May to meet again with my sweetheart in Mo Bay..

We have planned this travel to Jamica for some time.  So Alexei will meet my lady at Kazansky railroad station and take her to SVO airport.

When my lady returns from meeting in Jamaica, Alexei will meet her at SVO airport and take her to Kazansky station.

Hi Erwin,  I have spent a few thousand hours trying to learn some Russian, but it does not come  very easy for me.   I have been in lots of cabs where the driver does not speak English without a problem.    I am sure I could write on a note where I wanted to go, or e-mail ahead so he new.    Basically I want to go from SVO2 to the clinic where my gal should be done with her exam and pick her up and go to the train station.   That could be all covered in advance.

Corp.   I was trying to do much the same thing a few months ago.   I had an evening flight from N. Novgorod to Moscow and a early afternoon flight to the USA.   I did a search and the rates I came up with near the airport were bad.   I just looked now and you can get in the Ukraina for about 109 or the Rossiya for about 89.   I couldn't see anything near the airport except one near Domodedovo which is the wrong airport for you.   I usually use www.hotelsrussia.com for my reservations.  They also have a good transfer service but I have never used it unless I booked a hotel with them.

 for comparision of prices it would be 1 $ = 30 rub ( actually 28,@@@ - 29,@@@)

I have to say that Zima did a great job of gettng back to me.  I think I heard back from her in about 90 minutes when I e-mailed.    She is a little pricy.   $ 75.00 from SVO2 to Moscow.   GotoRussia is $ 45.00    I may use her anyway.   I liked the fast response.  It makes me feel that I can be sure she will be there when I arrive.

We get together every now and then, last July we shared a beach house in Myrtle; they're doing fine. Her Mama was here recently for two months - the night before she departed, I drove up alone to say goodbye - and wound up trying to translate between his Ma and her Ma as they cried their eyes out, what a scene. My accent's crap, but even worse when I'm choked up. Nice family they are...

We stayed at the Soyuz based solely on its location, 7 minutes by shuttle from the northern end of the Metro,
and 15 minutes from the airport. I just checked their rates, and a single can be had for $55. This was a super
place for the money, check the photoalbum - they even had Old Glory hanging from the restaurant ceiling!

Hey Vaughn how are you, Nice to talk on the phone the other night.

I am pulling up that hotel link now to check it out.
I just noticed I will be flying in at Domodedova and flying out of SVO.
Is that Soyuz, still in the general area of airport Domo?

I looked at some of the flats at go to russia.com and I noticed they offer free airport pickup, so maybe with that factored in,that might be the way to go?

Hey Oddly enough, today I started a job at a ladies house who is from Russia, the Husb,. American.
Seems like I have meet more Russians in the last year here than the whole 14 years before.
