Man, let me get this straight...you have not yet met her, don't know you don't need a visa for Ukraine, and are worrying about how long a K-1 takes to process?  Pal, get your house and life in order first.  Even though these may be impoverished girls by our financial standards, they've all graduated from the "school of hard knocks" and if you're not on their level in every way imaginable, you will be "cat food".  They can smell desperation from several kilometers away.  If you are not capable of picking your target, you will become one!  My advice to you...stay home until you know....nah, just stay home!

Gee, I've been to rougher places, it was just a question.  But, I won't be staying home.  If you don't know the difference between a question and what someone is planning, which is sveral trips and meeting, you should probably stay at home.  I was asking for advice on staying and other questions, not an insult from some smartmouth wanna be.  Globetrotter, how many times you been to FSU?  Itg doesn't say on your avitar.  Knocking someone because they didn't know if they needed a visa, or not was really bright.  As for being a mouse, I'm far from it.  I'll be going.  Why post questions to get an answer, when you get slammed.  Screw it.  BTW, does globetrotter have to do more with harlem, then you actually traveling?

I've got huveos and far from being a mouse.  JHC, if you can't post any simple question, without being insulted by "Some" people that think your afraid to travel to the FSU, when in fact I PLAN on going this year.  Fear of the FSU never crossed my mind.  Why post questions?  screw it.  It was a simple visa question, if she could get one, or if I needed one.

I ain't saying this is true for phantom, but I've noticed over time there is a tangible fear on some men's part about travel "behind the Iron Curtain"...  It is as if they are afraid/apt to be swallowed up by a big black hole, never to be seen or heard from again.

If this board does nothing else other than to dispell the fears some men have regarding travel to Russia and the other FSU countries, then we will have performed a beneficial service.  Although I don't expect the mice to grow balls and take on the adventure in a single bound, it would sure be nice if they at least stopped posting that fearful crap around the boards.

jb,

To tell the truth, before my first visit I didn't really know what to expect, even having travelled A LOT in my life.  I was however pleasantly surprised to learn that bread is available without waiting in line and even found a Mountain Dew at the local kiosk (something I had not seen in EU land).

Yes, I also hope those that land here in this forum do get on a plane even if it only serves to dispell myths.

I remember my first trip someone told me that in Ukraine they couldn't get Western jeans and they were considered a luxury, so when I came I loaded my suitcase with a bunch of my old jeans to give out.  My now wife gave me a funny look and told me to leave them in my room when I left and maybe the maid would have some use for them.  This is just an example of one misconception.  I think no matter how well traveled or educated, we will all come to the FSU the first time with at least one very wrong idea.  To bash someone for a simple, sincere question here is just not right.  If I had posted a question about the jeans I probably would have been laughed right off the forum.

Well Phantom, I thought I was helpful in answering your visa "squeeze" question.  Sorry for any misconceptions I may have had about you...but your questions sounded well, like you were in a big hurry to fill the wife hole in your heart.

To answer your questions:  been to Russian, Ukraine and Belarus countless times, been at this for over 5 years, going back to Russia in about 10 days, and have been to 50 other countries in the past 25 years.  (Harlem too!)  If you can't remember my handle, just think Meadowlark.  Good luck, and just keep it in your panties.

No hurry here.  Just was asking a few basic questions.  Might be rethinking the situation with the ladies any way, gonna meet four of them.  I've been dealing with the cindy agency, and looked at some other sites, and it was an afa site.  All the ones that I've been writing to, are on those sites as well, found them when I was doing a search.  Just the pictures are different, wonder if the cindy agency is part of the afa.  Might try maxim introductions instead.  Make one trip and meet a few.

Hello,

Here's a question I have.  I've been doing some corresponding with a young woman (27), she's a doctor psychatrist, if I can't get away this year to travel to the Ukriane to meet with her, I was wondering because of her status as a doctor, would it be difficult for her to get a tourist visa to the usa?  She works in a hospital, so she has obligations there.  Does anyone know?
I just want to remind that the doctors in Ukraine are not rich at all so her doctor status doesnt matter at all. Plus shes young and single. Will be difficult,I wouldnt risk.

Zhena,

I'll be making the trip to meet her in her city/country.  That's not the problem, won't risk her trying to come here.  Haven't set a date to go yet, but it'll be this year.  Gonna meet her and probably a few more.  Going to make a nice trip out of it.  Also want to visit Russia, while I'm over there.  Along with some other FSU countries.  See what countries I have to have a visa for.
Feel free to pm me, if have any advice, questions, or anything else.

You will need a visa for Russia.

One of the better web sites for visa information is  http://www.traveldocs.com/  , they can do visas to just about any country which requires one.

Travel Docs has always been able to help me when I needed a visa in a hurry.
