Working to eliminate the agency from your communications.
« on: September 02, 2007, 02:31:53 PM »
In the 10 commandments it states to "Work to eliminate any agency from your communications".  What is the best method to do this when your lady speaks and writes very little English?  Or is it better to just look for a lady that is almost fluent to start with?
Any input on this subject would be much appreciated

Cheers

Hi Hemyock... If your lady has a computer at home, or access to one at an internet cafe or friends house .. she can use online translation software to translate to english before sending you an email or translate to russian before reading one you send her... here are links to the

english version

http://free-translation.imtranslator.net/default.asp?loc=en&ldr=

russian version

http://free-translation.imtranslator.net/?loc=ru

there are others out there as well, just find one that works for you, the better ones use the Prompt translation engine, or you can buy the full blown version for your PC and get around the character limit of most online vesions..

I hope they help a bit  :)

Language barrier aside, it really paid dividends when I bought my future
wife's address and home phone number. At the time the charge was ten dollars.

This may be greeted with criticism or sheer derision, but we also added snail mail
to our mix of e-mail and phone calls. We enjoyed getting letters from one another,
and could delve into personal matters with privacy.

If one's woman speaks/writes/understands very little English, there are a few
tools couple can use, as the translation programs mentioned above. Others
include electronic translators, dictionaries, phrase books, and the old-fashioned
method of studying his/her language, IMO, the most effective method - as the
new found vocabulary tends to stay with you if utilized often, and eliminates the
need for all the other equipment.

Eliminating the agency early on is akin to tossing a youngster into the shallow
end of the pool - forcing that young'n to sink or swim. Eventually, the agency
won't be there to hold your hands, so it's best to learn quickly to swim without it.

The best way to do this is get on a plane and go see her face to face.
