Apartments in St Petersburg

Just wanted to ask for any info regarding apartments in Saint Petersburg. Im looking at going over there at the end of the year so I thought Id check out some accomm options ahead of time.

If you check the classifieds section (apartments/flats for rent) of St. Petersburg Times (www.sptimes.ru), you should be able to find several agencies advertising apartments for short and long term rental. Around Christmas time, for a 1 bedroom apartment, in the city center, you should expect to pay around $100 per night.

Christmas / New Years is a great time to be in St. Petersburg... Just stay off the street on New Year's Eve unless you like massive crowds of drunken revelers.

My lady friend has also offered to find me something in the city centre; hope she's not thinking a luxury apartment Probably try for something around Chernishevskaia, or Gostinii Dvor.

Ick,

Every interaction with your lady is an opportunity to learn about her.  If there's even an inkling of doubt about what type of apartment she would rent for you you should ask her directly what she recommends fr you.

The most difficult thing about "getting to know someone through correspondence" is the fact that you can only know what the other person tells you.

This is a great opportunity to LEARN about her by seeing what she thinks or recommends.

Ask her... if she suggests a ridiculously expensive apartment you should wonder if:

1) You are compatible
2) She understands you
3) She is practical
4) You want to continue getting to know her.

Oh, by the way...  just because she recommends something DOES NOT mean you have to accept her recommendation.

Chyernashevskaya isn't so bad, but you don't want to be anywhere near Gostiny Dvor.  That's right on Nevsky Prospect so you know it's going to be expensive... and noisy.
