2227  Khershatyk day before New Years.

2238 Night photo of Independence Square New Years eve eve.

2593 The Dnipper River on January 4th.  Almost frozen all the way but not quite.
As I was leaving Kiev on the 8th and we crossed the Dnipper river it was frozen from shore to shore. I already had my camera packed away so could not take photos.  It was very strange to see people walking down the middle of the Dnipper river.

2662 West of Kiev years ago a company was digging out clay to make bricks.  They had a huge hole dug and then they hit a natural spring.  The company tried to bring in pumps but the water was coming in at such a force they could not pump the hole drive.  The water coming from this spring, and in this lake, is cleaner and clearer than anything coming from the city supplied water. During the spring and summer it is very hard to even find a place to park at this lake because so many people come her to swim.   Here you can see someone cutting out ice from this lake.
