your tax $$$ at work

Criminy, You would think with all of the crime and such in Richmond/Virginia the politicians would have other things concentrate on.

By BOB LEWIS, Associated Press Writer

RICHMOND, Va. - It's one thing to dangle fuzzy dice from a rear view mirror, but decorating a trailer hitch with a large pair of rubber testicles might be a bit much in Virginia.

State Del. Lionel Spruill introduced a bill Tuesday to ban displaying replicas of human genitalia on vehicles, calling it a safety issue because it could distract other drivers.

Under his measure, displaying the ornamentation on a motor vehicle would be a misdemeanor punishable by a maximum fine of $250.

He said the idea came from a constituent whose young daughter spotted an example of the trail hitch adornment and asked her father to explain it.

"'I didn't know what to tell her,'" Spruill said the constituent told him before Spruill vowed to stop such displays.

"I said, 'Sir, I'm going to be a laughingstock, but I'm going to do it,'" he said.

The Virginia General Assembly has some experience with offbeat bills. Three years ago, it drew widespread attention with an unsuccessful effort to outlaw baggy pants worn so low they expose underwear.

Spruill, 61, said the indignity of the "droopy drawers" debate wouldn't deter him. He said he won't hesitate to bring a set of $24.95 trailer testicles with him for a legislative show-and-tell.

"I'm going to do it," Spruill told a handful of reporters after Tuesday's House session adjourned. "I'm going to bring them out here and show them to you till they tell me to stop."

  These are the offending items in question;

I think this product might be humorous while fishing with your buddies, I wouldn't buy them.  If I had a son or daughter I would explain what they are and the reference.

Well (insert son/daughter name here) those are a reproduction of the male testicles and are on display as a joke about how he is supposed to be a bigger better man then most  but he is actually just showing everyone how sophomoric he really is"

But I guess actually talking to and explaining things to your kids is not "cool", better they learn things from a stranger that doesn't have their well being as his (or her) primary concern.

Well Bear all I can say is that after having lived in and around Richmond for many years this bill doesn't surprise me a bit. They, like some folks 'round here lately, are rather full of their own self importance and believe that if they don't think it is right that is must be not only wrong but criminal as well.

Heck, if varying between the top 5 or so places for murder (by capita) doesn't make ya proud you're just not a good Virginian!

Virginia... Isn't that the state that has the four-figure traffic fines?

...Meanwhile, over in Russia we have cars on the road that wouldn't be acceptable for use in a demolition derby.

Richmond's almost as bad as California!!  The thing that I noticed in that area of Virginia is the amount of open corruption by the black folks (or African-American whatever the politically correct term is these days).

I'm not saying all people were corrupt (greediness for money or power knows no racial boundires) but I was amazed at how open and accepted it was.

A whole different ball game out in those parts

Perhaps they should do an exchange with the Russian Militia on their corruptness ?

Regarding the law, I imagine the officers of the law stopping a car and telling the driver: "Sir I want to check if you have testicles".

I once heard a story about a Virginia trooper who pulled over a driver for a minor traffic infraction.  Upon reaching the driver' s window he found a woman who was all excited and happy.  After asking for her license and registration, the trooper inquired if the woman knew why she had been stopped.

The woman responded:  Well it must be to give me a ticket to the greatest social event of the season, the Virginia State Troopers annual  ball, right?

The Trooper responded: No ma'am you are mistaken.  Virginia troopers don't have balls.....

I am told that a split-second later the trooper realized what he had said and let the woman off with a warning... :-[

Shows how well educated legislators are.  Those that I have seen are Bull balls not human, unless you happen to be a bit malformed.

Since 99.999999999% of all politicians are completely full of bull it is not surprising that they mistake these for their own. Though I'll bet a goodly portion of them would have to ask their wives if they could borrow them for a few minutes to compare to the pictures... ;)

If you want to hear disgusting. I once received a catalog that was mainly hunting gear but they also were advertising walking canes made of bull penises. How weird is that?

Actually my experience is that Texas Troopers have a lot of balls, just limited brains.  I do not know if any other state police agency that trains their recruits to shoot out of a moving vehicle.

Va. does... here's a couple of their training vehicles.
