I hope you all will agree to return to the subject of ladies from the FSU (as opposed to all the silly squabbling which has dominated the board lately).

Assuming no objections (or even if there ARE objections), I will be posting a series of posts containing photos of the contenders.

Please vote for the one you consider most beautiful - and there *is* a write-in option, which we will also use to collect candidates for future contests.

I like Natalia Vodyanova, there is something sincere and kind in her eyes and she is cute than cold beauty

and yes I agree with Lily several girls are not Russian, like Petra and Yasmina they are not russian probably czech or someothers

Hi Lil,

You are right. Czech Republic was only a Soviet vassal state. Not quite the same, I guess. OTOH, there are only 2 entrants from Czech, so it still should be an interesting contest.

In the first leg of this race the runaway leader is a Ukrainian girl. So far the vassal state does not seem to be putting up much of a fight.

Plenty of time for folks to get their bets in. Vote Early and Vote Often... ooops... that's only for presidential elections...

If I were somehow blessed to have a date with any of these women (and I were also a younger man), I would choose Natalia Vodianova (Jazzy's choice).

Some of these women frighten me. Sasha Pivovarova's middle photo seems as if she sleeps in the day and roams at night, sucking the blood from human victims. Or maybe she had too much of her surname (pivo) the night before this photo was taken.

Most just look stiff and oblivious.

The sexiest (not necessarily someone whom I would prefer to date) is Daria Werbowy. Reminds me of someone I knew.

But overall i really hate this model look.. too damn skinny... obese certainly doesn't thrill me, but they just don't have enough curves for me.. that sack of bones nonsense just looks ridiculous. To each his own I suppose.

I could see myself sitting with Photoguy and Daveman in a Russian cafe when one of these ladies walks in.

"She sure looks nice!!" "It's too bad she's so skinny. Otherwise, I'd totally date her."
"Yeah. It's too bad." "Maybe she's poor and doesn't have enough to eat."
"Poor girl." "Can't even feed herself."

I'm sure that's how the conversation would go.

Perhaps they would see it as their civic duty to buy the poor girl a meal or two... might even date her (out of sympathy of course) and end up married (again out of sympathy for the poor thing)
