What has become of this forum?
« on: February 03, 2008, 01:42:48 PM »
It's been a long time since I've posted anything on this forum, but what I read for the most part these days is some members who think they know everything about FSU women and in reality have never even met one, yet feel they have all the answers and enough to go as far as criticize other members who post a report.

If you look back a couple years, this was a good forum with a lot of support to those who have gotten off their asses and made the trip to meet someone. Now, very few of these guys are still around and I think mostly because of all the bashing that is taking place. And the moderators here don't really appear to give a crap.

For one, look at the lack of trip reports lately... You wonder why? Who is going to post a report only to have a few idiots tell him everything he did wrong?

Anyone else out there agree?

I signed up with a new username when the forum made some changes to the site a year or two ago and the passwords got all fouled up. I think my previous username was jeffor97478.

I am just wondering in how much longer time will all these dating-agency exists and can the men not use the common senses and realise that things have chance a lot sins the dating-business started.
An average Ukraine salary is today 1675 grivner and in the spring 2003 a salary were 500 grivner or something like it.

jeff, a lot of people have been speaking their minds lately. Some think the forum has gotten too tough, some think it has gotten too soft. Personally, I'm not one to recommend driving others off just because they made mistakes or pouring salt on someone's wound. Talking down to people isn't very effective when educating them... if that is in fact your goal to educate.

I'd like to see the scam forum pick up. Based on what I read elsewhere, I know that there are a lot of guys out there getting or ready to get scammed or doing business with bad agencies. They just got to post their story to warn others and maybe we can give some tips that would help them save their time and money for the sincere girls who deserve it.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Makkin recently posted a trip report regarding his group tour in Kiev.  This is his 3rd trip to the FSU and he expressed his opinions about  going on a group tour or doing it solo.  You would think that such would prompt many members.  Only one person asked questions (me).

AND NO ONE TOLD HIM HE DID ANYTHING WRONG

Perhaps readers were distracted by the bickering elsewhere and did not give his thread adequate attention???

Jeff,

Look at this link:

http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?topic=6724.0

Here the poster admitted that pretty much everything went wrong after he landed in Ukraine. Some mistakes were made. I don't remember anyone giving him the least bit of a hard time. Just some commiseration (at least on my part, for also making some of the same mistakes) and helpful guidance.

I think you have to get more familiar with the search button and read a bit more before you start shooting up this place.

I remember another forum that had such problems.  Sure you are referring to the correct forum?

I did a member search here and found no member that was close to the one you mentioned.

Nope, I certainly do NOT agree.

In order of importance:

* RWD has the largest number of members with experience who genuinely CARE about other member's success - by a vast amount.
* Because RWD has the largest number of active members, and because many of those members are passionate about this endeavor - we occasionally experience some of the most vigorous debates on the internet.
* RWD has the most modern, and feature-laden, site on the net.

In summary, what sets RWD heads and shoulders above every other similar venue on the net is that our members, and our management, cares - deeply. There is more 'heart' shown here in an hour, than any other site demonstrates in a year.

Jeff, as RWD has always been - we remain a site which is 'driven' by our community of members. If there is something that upsets you - please respond in the appropriate topic to 'correct' it. If you see something egregious, feel free to use the 'Report to Moderator' option and tell us about it.

Obviously, I don't relish the idea of being the poster-child for all clueless American travelers to the FSU, but I have to say everyone here has been quite helpful to me, and many have even offered additional suggestions to me through PM.

I have a funny feeling "Jeff" is referring to another forum which is gone.

John,

Whenever someone posts their TR here, it is an act of generosity and should be appreciated. When someone posts about their negative experiences, it is even more educational, and should be met with the respect it deserves. For many people, it is an act of courage to post on an open forum - especially knowing that not all who will read and respond are going to be supportive. When someone posts about encountering problems or making mistakes, they are courageously opening themselves to criticism, and at the same time, offering others the opportunity to learn from their mistakes. Those are, oftentimes, the most valuable TR's of all.

Thanks for sharing - and know that most here appreciate your willingness to share your experiences.

- Dan
