UK guy.. to marry in Ukraine or UK? Affect visa application?

I got engaged to my Ukrainian girlfriend in Feb of this year, and we're planning on getting married soon. My own thought is to have a wedding in the Ukraine in August, which would mean all her family and friends could attend, and then i'd have another wedding here in the UK say Jan 09 in a church... proper white wedding to keep my family, and us happy 
If we don't marry in August, its no problem, as I still plan to marry my girl in the UK early 09. Just by doing two weddings we can keep both families happy....
But my question is this....
What paper work will I have to provide to marry in the Ukraine?
Once married, my plan would be to bring my wife over to the UK on a spouse visa.
Or would this be too difficult, and could cause problems?
Better to have a big engagement party in August in the Ukraine, bring her to the UK on a fiancee visa, and marry within 6 months?
What would be our best option? And if we marry in the Ukraine, what documents would I have to provide?
I'm 36 years old and she's 34 years old.

Just get married in Ukraine and not register it.  You can pay Zags or RAGS - forget name about $20 bucks to never file paperwork.  This is very common.  That way her parents will think it will be legal in Ukraine. 

I would go with wedding in Ukraine.  Western weddings are very boring compared to Russian weddings.

What's ZAGS or RAGS.....??
Looking around here it seems your idea won't be possible as before I can get married in the Ukraine, I need to provide some documents from my own British embassy saying i'm not already married. I guess there's others...
