There is an old expression.

A man is judged by his clothes when he walks into a room, and by his words when he walks out.
This is what I am trying to say with one correction- we'd better judge by what a man does (his actions). This Georgian can happen to be a very good husband. How do we know?
Also these girls are free to decide themselves.
(I am here alone to defend Americans  :D)

It's a pity Eduard can't defend his client here 8)

Do we know his background?
There is nothing terrible in him if he is a nice caring funny man. He can make one of the best husbands, how do you know?
I agree, i had my negative opinion about him, after i got to know a little bit about that man (sorry, can't post, it was told in pm) i can say i could be wrong. Lack of information and appearance can play a trick to us.

Today is the 25th. He was placed in Muted status on the 27th of last month - for 30 days. Soon enough, if he so chooses, Eduard can respond.

I ended up finding this which I think is the first part of what everyone has been on about. Maybe it gets worse, I haven't bothered to study the other clips.

OK, this guy isn't Brad Pitt but c'mon guys, I am leaning to Doll's comments here because I think she is not far wide of the mark. This guy could do with losing a few pounds but other than that, he is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay in front of many, if not most I have encountered searching in Russia (Actually on the ground). Cut the guy a little slack, the shots of him in the apartment were for the reality aspect of things and hey, at least he bothered to iron his shirt, more than many I have seen and wouldn't most women like to see their potential mate being at least capable of picking up an iron?

His street dress was more casual than I would, but he was clean and tidy. Honestly, from all the comments, I was expecting much worse. He was dressed waaaaaaaaaaaaaay cleaner and even more tidy than oh so many westerners I have seen in Russia and for that matter Ukraine also. I hate gum chewing at the best of times, but honestly, it didn't jump out at me. Sure it was all quite staged but from what I hear from my wife's friends and associates, most of them might or might not marry a guy like this, but if he was the worst who turned up, the scene would be way better than it is right now.

It would be interesting to see all the RWD husbands and hopefuls in shorts and no more, ironing their clothes and see how they compare. Who wants to post their video clip? I kinda think we won't have many takers if comparison is the focus. Me thinks there is a few stones being thown from inside glass houses here. Further, when tut tutting, it might pay to have a look around when travelling. I haven't looked at the other clips, but a quick glance at the first one suggests to me this guy is more than a fair shot of finding someone decent.

As for all the other dribble in the background about systems and numbers and beauty and so forth..........yada yada...blah blah. Fairly high BS content.

Lilly is on point. There is no excuse for a man to dress this way bachelor or not. It's as though AM think they have the green light to dress like slobs even if we can afford better. We are not children, but grown men. I take pride in my appearance as it is the first impression in anything. Business or socially. I also go to the gym. My parents instilled in us a man could not go out looking like a slob nor a woman a prostitute and expect to get respect because we are good people. You project who you are through manners ,pride, posture and confidence. People do judge by the way we appear and this unfortunately is part of society.

My take on this is that it's a marketing tool for our buddy Eduard. The guys most interested in watching these videos are not the well mannered, well dressed, well adjusted men who are simply "casting a wider net" in their search for happiness. Nope, this is designed  to be shown to the hoards of other uncouth slobs who couldn't get laid in a whorehouse with a stack of $100 bills, so that they can look in the mirror and say Hell, if that loser can be successful, it'll be "a piece of cake" for me!
Every action in company ought to be done with some sign of respect to those that are present. ~ Geo. Washington

  I don't have a clip :), but I've already joked about my husband (to-be).
I knew he was in a fairly high position in the company with a decent income and what I saw didn't match this image. Now I know- he wears white shirts, everything is quite dressy (I watch  :)) but the guy whom I met at SVO was something else: old snickers, stupid hat with everything else same stupid.  :D :D
It seemed strange to me then. He didn't care if it was the capital- he was comfortable in his clothing and he was on vacations. The man behind this outfit appeared to be a very good person.
Then I moved to the US and have been here for 6 years. I am accustomed to the way men are dressed and so I don't see anything ugly in this John.
I find the agency owner's attitude much worse but this is under discussion I guess.
Let's give him a credit- he didn't know what is was to be in the capital.
Iron in his hands impressed me !

I agree with I/O. Haven't seen much GQ material in the men of RWD. Though I would like to think that I am attractive, I will be the first to admit that I could lose a few pounds and I am not quite as attractive as I was when I was 18  ;D

Dall, he may look topical, but has absolutely no manners!!!!!
American men generally have manners.

That GUM!!!!!!!!
They teach boys in school not to do that- chewing as you speak!
And what with f….. this and f…… that!
Like some 16 y.old boys from the hood?

Anyway, man with any kind of sense of manners, do not talk like that outside the locker room!

This guy is trailer trash!!!

I was in shock from the gum chewing, while  f…specking.

Neither my husband no his friends act like that.

I am wondering what this John guy is doing for a job? Has he ever been around people before?

I am not surprised that all the AW are running away as they see him coming!

The guy is not an actor and he was "watched" by the other man with the camera! Also the situation when he met a new girls almost every day IS confusing.
We need to know his background to judge.
( I am still sick in the stomach when I think of one more date before I met my husband- this AM behaved ridiculous! )

  Misha,

The language was bad. I agree. I also agree most AM are taught to spit gum out of their mouths when they are speaking or at least not chewing like a cow. It still makes me think he may be hiding a case of halitosis.

I also thought the fact he implied he spent the night with the gal with the short hair was in very poor taste. If he knew he was being filmed for an agency ad he should have really kept his mouth shut. "A gentleman never tells "is a quote he has never heard.

Though he is not dressed like GQ I would think he at least would make sure to wear things that flatter his body type. This guy with a nice pair of dress pants and shirt, minus the gum and bad language would not have been so bad. At least he would have shown he had a bit of class. You always put your best foot forward when meeting a new "potential" spouse. When going on a date I make sure to dress nicely as 99.9% of the time the women is putting effort into her look also.

If I was meeting a date for the first time and she wore clothes she whatever would wear everyday and chewed some gum, it would make me think twice.

I think all of us have met ladies who took much effort in their looks. How many of you  guys who find him acceptable complain about how AW dress? Many here like RW because they dress well, take pride in appearance and would never go out on a first date looking like they were heading to a yard sale.

Don't you think he was trying to not answer the questions? This id-ot (sorry) was bugging him with inappropriate questions.

Shorts and shirts.
Having now watched a little of the other clips, I only noticed him wearing shorts in public once. I also noticed the background shots only showed a handful of guys any better dressed. Most were pretty casual also.

Yes the gum chewing and language did get worse at some points. Nevertheless, I still think if this was the bottom line of those tracking to Russia and surrounds, the average would be lot higher than it is. Different strokes for different folks but I've seen far worse. Goodness, some of the idjits I saw in Odessa the first time I went there make this guy look like a prince.

I am now up to the 4th part, and I have yet to see any gum chewing. Maybe it is there, but I just don't notice it. Oh, there it is, a few minutes into the 4th one. Well, he was doing it when alone with Eduard, which is different from doing it on a date.

As for the swearing, it is quite mild compared to a lot of people that I have met over the years (including very educated ones).

Also, how do you know your husband and his friends do not act like that? :) Men often act one way when women are in earshot, quite another when they are alone with the guys. I confess that I will swear a bit with one good friend that I meet ever few years.

Maybe, but this guy is being filmed.

And he was chewing on the date too.

The filmed part is deceptive. Presumably, Eduard had been filming him for hours. Quite often you forget about the camera.

As bad habits go, there are some that are a lot worse than chewing gum.

So?
Lets think of anything  we can come up with. Maybe furting in public, picking your nose etc.
It does not make this guy look any better?

This is an imbursement for all Americans.

Smoking even when the person next to you starts to gag. Talking on a cell phone in a movie theater. Being loud and obnoxious. There are many traits that rate much higher in the highly annoying category for me :)

Just to toss a twist into this...............who noticed the women? They seemed nice enough, but elocution, speech and for that matter dress also didn't exactly strike me as "Top Shelf".

Jet: I agree it is all largely designed for a target market and that market is not the women folk in this equation. It kind of had the feel to me it was designed to get Joe average all warm and comfy with the Russia thing more so than trying to demonstrate any fool can do it, although I acknowledge that may be part of it also. The comfy apartment, iron the shirt, chat with the mate, meet the girl, do the payground fair ride thing, take a boat ride, see the sites rah rah. You too can see Russia ain't the big scary place just so long as you have the blowhardofthecentury in tow. ;)

Where the whole thing falls down in my view is that lack of attention to detail in briefing John Punter regarding do's and don'ts. IIRC John Punter kissed everyone he met with the exception of the first. Maybe things are changing, but I know my wife and her friends would be most embarrassed with such in public. They would cope but cringe. Reminded me of a joke we had for years down hear about a certain nationality (Sandro are you reading) who it was suggested would kiss you on both cheeks and the face also. :o  Hands all over and arms around whilst seeing no response on the womens side suggested a little desperation, but hey whatever...............................who here would put their hand up to be filmed in such circumstances regardless of how staged it is?

At the end of the day, this poor dude has been picked over pretty well and I wonder how many of the rest of us would show up much better under scrutiny such as this. He ain't the worst by a very long stretch.

Sorry I/O,
But I cannot agree with your take on this guy.  In the other thread I said:
"Class it up" a bit for this trip.  Show the ladies that you put an extra effort in your attire to meet them and your efforts will be noticed and appreciated.  You only have one chance to make a first impression, don't waste it on being comfortable.
One of the ladies here have said that this guy is no different from what she sees on the street in America every day.  I agree with her, but this guy should have been out to make a good first impression of a woman that might potentially be his wife.  He isn't running to 7-11 to buy a box of Ho ho's!  I guess it is a matter of how important the woman you are meeting  is to you.  If she is only worth wearing something you would wear to garden in, that tells a lot.  It isn't how I am wired, that is for sure.  When I met my wife I wanted to be a man that she would be proud to be seen with not an embarrassment.

Ken, you're batting 100% I thought the same thing. People are saying this guys attire and gum chewing is normal here. but on a date????? Come on. If some girl came halfway across the world to meet me and  showed up wearing what she would normally wear to the supermarket along with a wad of gum and her flip flops, I would not care how "nice" she was. She certainly is showing a lack of class. He was also pretty grabby as someone else pointed out.

looking at the body language and facial expressions of of the girls , it did not seem any of them where interested. Anyone else get that feeling?

I also noted that compared to many guys going to Russia, this guy isn't so bad. But why does everyone compare him to guys going to Russia? Don't RW who are some of the best women on this Earth deserve more than mediocre??. He's eventually going to bring her here where she will then compare him to men who do have class and don't act like hicks who think the Olive Garden is a high class joint.

KenC: Whatever yours or my take on what standards should be, and I would add, I was a way sight better dressed when I met my now wife, decent slacks, top shelf shoes, collar and tie, jacket and so forth, (The particular situation lent itself to that), but hey you really do need to have a look around if you think this dude is way down the ladder in the whole scene. He is mid scale at least from what I've seen over the last few years.

I think there is two different thought trains running through here, one is how it should be and one is how it is. Reality is, they are not one and the same in today's scene. I've seen way worse than this more times than I care to count.
