Wienerin, Doll,

It is so nice to have more Russian women on this forum. I agree wholeheartedly with Wienerin's account. What she says matches both my experience in Russia and my experience  in Canada.

BINGO!
Lily,
And there in lies the difference between AW and RW IMO.  AW see no honor in being a feminine woman, they see at as a weakness.

Once again - I do not understand how it can be a matter of honor to be born something or other. One is - that's it. Just accept all the benefits and strengths - or weaknesses and downside of one's station or try to improve on it and overcome when it's possible.

When there are examples of "femininity" such as beautiful clothes, make-up, fancy hairdos or disdain of manual labor, or pursuing "feminine" occupations like cooking, embroidery, knitting, etc. - I can only dissolve in helpless laughter :)

All these notions are societal and differ in time. And when we turn to the animal world - oh my! Aren't the males gorgeous and doing almost nothing but impregnate in most species, and the females drab and hard-working? ;)

Hello Wienerin, et al. I've been married to my RW more than 5 wonderful years. I think there are significant and very wonderful differences between the "average" (and I know that's a dangerous term) AW and RW. My wife is certainly not "compliant" in any way! :) But she truly has a deep feminine nature that seems to come from within, and is just a solid bedrock thing in her. We've never had a single discussion of any sort about "equality" on anything between man/woman or husband/wife. That whole debate just does not seem to exist. Rather than equality, its all about HARMONY. It's not equality (two of the same notes) but harmony (two different notes sounding beautiful together). Are you readers here familiar with the concept among women in Russia of a "real man"? It's different than what an American might think it means. But anyway, my wife desires and expects me to be a "real man" in this way for her, and I love it because it syncs with my deepest inner notions, feelings and behaviours about things. Likewise, when someone asks me what my wife is like, I can just say, she is truly a "real woman" but its hard to describe what all that includes. She lives true to her nature, and I live true to mine, and we love being together and sharing our company. My wife is so intelligent .. .wow, and she is nobody's fool, that's for sure. I better stop now or I'll write a book here about all the things in her feminine nature and vice versa in my masculine nature. I'll just say its nice to live that way and experience that inner balance with your woman.
