Is Ukraine really a good alternative?

Most Russians have this opinion of Ukrainian women.  Its no secret that they come up and steal mens' attention in Moscow with their better looks.  As far as less refined I meant that in a general sense, not just in their appearance.

Yep Scott, mine also considers herself Russian and is half Russian as well.

Well everybody looks different but in general the Ukrainians have darker complexion on average.  I've recently been to many cities from Odessa to St. Petersburg and I know what I'm saying when I say there is a difference in how they look, not all of it is genetic though.

Wow, now this is a highly subjective thread!

Om my travels in the FSU and on various forums I've read Odessa women are the most beautiful .. Volgograd are the most beautiful, St Petersburg, Moscow, Siberian, etc....

I think the simple explanation is - If you visit a city in the Summer, you'll notice more beautiful girls, right ? - Southern cities will have an influx of holiday makers - who may be smiling more ... a smile makes us think folk are more attractive, right ?!

Darker skin - Esp. in the Odessa region there was a lot of ancient Greek genes  - but in Soviet times people's really got mixed up - what with forced repatriations eastwards and southern republics folk moving to the cities.

Many FSU folk seem to have pale skin, but tan amazingly well, compare to my irish/anglo saxon paleness.

IMHO, I don't think one region is any better than another, but the warmer, sunnier climates make you FEEL that way. I sort of thought Ukrainian women were more "racy" in their choice of clothing.. but again, that could be a climate thing.
