Ash,
You don't even amaze me anymore with your excellent advice and reason.  ;D Nothing compares to common sense and experience of which you have plenty. I've come to expect nothing less from you and this post is proof.

BillR-

the risks ,that she isnt real,a great actress , and many othe rrisks,
are all part and parcel to this.

first step is to simply accept the risks.
and truly accept that you cannot completely avoid them, there is no easy way.
there is no fast way,
this is not a get married quick process.

the only way to be sure of anything is after you know her, and know her well, in person.
at that point you shoiuld knpow her family and friends.. etc.
naturally, the same as dating anyone anywhere.

again there are no shortcuts ,
and before that time occurs (of you actually knowing the person )
you accept that you simply do not KNOW , and do not over invest yourself,, emotionally financially or in any other way.
you need to be trusting, but not overly invested in someone you do not yet know.

if you cannot do this without being overly concerned or parnoid, it will undermine everything positive you try to accomplish.

you can an dshould d othe simply steps laid ouyt in the te ncommandments.

if any lady wont give you her phobne number after a reasonable number of exchanges,

then something up.
sh eeither doesnt have real intrerest in you
ther eis something agency "fishy " going on..
or she is far to paranoid  to ever be compatable in uprooting her whole life to relocate a half a world away.
take your pick..
but it wont matter as you should simply mocve on.

if you take out that there is nothing fishy going on (as she should WANT to talk to you without the agency)
any RW that is fearful after a number of exchanges with a man they have true interest in,, to give something as simple as a phone number,
simply isnt a personality type that is likely to be able to endure this adventure anyway.

Some of my wifes very first priorities were to get me her direct contact info,(and yes she also asked for my number and called)
and to get her english to a level that we did not need a translator.

most RW are quite pragmatic and practical.
it makes no sense to speak to a man they have possible romantic interest in,
thru someone else, and additionally (if not needed) it is a silly waste of money (his ,but its still viewed as wasteful, and not to be done)

if it is a nessisity because of language , it makes some sense, and that is the only reason it should.

.
