Resident Alien - Time in USA

I know I have seen the answer to this before.  I just have a limited amount of time to search for it right now.  I'd appreciate anyone pointing me to the right place (links are great, too!)

I'm trying to give some advice to a friend of my wife.  She arrived in the USA on a K-1, and has married.  She currently is awaiting processing of her AoS (Cond. Resident Alien), and is holding her AP.  She is trying to complete some obligations she has with her university back in the FSU.

Question(s): 

• What is the length of time (or ratio of time out/in the USA) one must maintain in order to maintain her "Resident" status in the USA?
• What is the maximum time she can be out of the USA on her AP and/or Cond. Resident Alien Card without having to jump though additional hoops?
