It's sorta like when you turn into a street in your car and notice all the cars on the street are parked with headlights towards you, no cars are following you, and folks in oncoming traffic make strange faces, point at you, even flash their lights and honk their horns..

Not a good analogy.. yours implies it is OK to say "deeply tanned" and call those pointing out it's a racist remark.. "imbeciles"..

Mr B, and Sandro are the one's driving down your "street " the wrong way!

I am from Detroit and called my black friends N...ger back in late 1980's.  It is how and when you say it if it is offensive.  Just like white cracker.  Detroit is a little more down to earth when it comes to white / black relations.  Reason why Kid Rock and Eminem were able to be white rappers.  Both Detroiters.

I did not think Sandro was being offensive at all as he was not directing it personally.  Now ju..le.. bunny and spear .. ch ..er   Saying those things were get you capped.  Those sayings are never appropriate.

It is only a problem when people make a problem of it. I have several friends in different grades of being tanned, and they have no issue with Berlusconi's remarks. Of course the always neutral press will make it an issue.

Just in case you missed biology, all are the same race, homo sapiens sapiens. Features that distinguish certain gene pools do actually not make any difference in the race itself. As such any separation or making difference in race is de facto impossible, except for certain homo sapiens neandertaliensis who have magically avoided extinction and bother about differatiation.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

I heard the funniest joke today on Comedy Central The daily show with Jon Stewart show.
He was talking to a reporter reporting from Alaska and he starts going off telling jokes about Sarah Palin and the best one that he said about Palin was........"Sarah Palin is sssooooo dumb she thought Soymilk was "I am milk"."
