Why do Russian women prefer Western men?

Russian women who want to marry an American have the same reasons as all those men in Russia/Asia etc. who want to emigrate to USA, the conception that it is the land of opportunity.
Some of them don't like US maybe because it is too far or maybe because it is a cultural dessert (c/w Europe) or maybe because they don't like Americans that much. These women would also consider Europeans.
Geography and opportunity has its role, the number of Russian women from their Far East marrying Chinese is growing, soon Chinese would be touted as best husbands.
It also depends on who is looking for Russian women, most men who search for Russian women are from US and Western Europe/Australia hence most marriages of RU with non-RM will be to these men.

However it is much more satisfying for a man who has married a RW to believe that he was chosen over RM because he is a better husband.

I didn't feel like my X chose me over a Russian man. She fell in love with me and that was that. I just happened to be from America. She would have been delighted if I had moved to Moscow.

Everyone has their own particular set of reasons as to why they look where they do. But in the end we are all trying to fill as much of our own shopping list as we can.

Well, i agree with some of the answers to this question, but to my mind the main reason is that RW want to have better life for their family and they want to be sure that their kids will have future. To my mind, this is the reason number 1! It is my own point of view, but many men many minds

I've also heard this reason  from a couple of particularly thoughtful RW.
