Top, the Iowa thing worries me also.  You living in a city?

Why would it worry you? Yes I live in a city.

I here a lot of village complaints.  I just wonder what a woman would think about Iowa, that is from the FSU.  It is an interesting dynamic.  I have no real merit for the worry.

I got to agree with Topofthekey on the Iowa women. I have spent most of my life there and their weight is a huge problem. Sure there are some nice ones but they are few and far between and farther between after they have a few cubs. For some reason keeping your body in shape is of little concern to a rural Iowa woman. A 30 year old Iowa woman with a few kids will most likely look nothing like her FSU counterpart.

Topofthekey. How large of a city do you live in?  Believe it or not it will make a difference to a FSU woman. Take one out of a city that is a million plus and she might go bonkers living somewhere in Iowa with three thousand locals. If you do live in a small town you might have a hard time convincing her that you even have running water. Villages in the FSU are very different to villages here.

What would they think of Nebraska, Kansas, Wyoming? The main difference I can think of is Iowa is a blue state.

Topofthekey. How large of a city do you live in?

Des Moines has around 500 or 600k people in the greater metro area now I believe. A little larger than Tallinn

Des Moines would be fine. A city of two hundred thousand in the US will most likely cover more area than a city of a half million in the FSU. We have alot more houses than they do. They mostly live in apartments.

It depends on what you see as her counterpart.
I could probably find you Siberian village women that compare very well...

Ok now I'm about to get mean. First picture is the best the NBDL's Iowa Energy could find for cheerleaders. The following picture is what you'll find at a game in Estonia.

sorry picture isn't showing up. Just click here for Estonia. http://www.bckalev.ee/fotod/index.php/3.1.2009_-_BBL_Rockiga/kalevrock041.JPG?action=big&size=original&fromthumbnail=true

I have not seen any of those states discussed.  I was wondering if there is some feedback about any of them.

There seems to be some quirky nuances about farmers.  Then factor a smaller city, and I wonder.  I may be over thinking it, and that would not be the first or last time for me.

You've never been so I'm not sure what you have to base any opinions off of? Wichita, Lincoln, Omaha, Des Moines, Kansas City, etc are not little towns. Even Cheyenne, Wyoming isn't tiny (and its probably 50 or 60 miles from downtown denver). Only a few miles from suburbs like Ft. Collins.

Small town people are pretty friendly. Most people from the city would just get bored there pretty quickly. There just isn't much to do. But when someone introduces themself from Nebraska I don't assume they are a hog farmer. Could live in Omaha for all I know.

I have been to all those citys. I would hesitate from meeting women from Moscow, St. Pete or Kiev( well I would do that anyway) and thinking they might like a mid size American city. It seems like big city life gets in their blood and you cant get it out of them. But any woman from a smaller FSU city I think would not have a problem living there. In fact, I think most would love it.

So for a girl to marry young is mostly a loss, a stunted growth. IMHO, of course.

Wienerin,

Of course it is in your opinion.

You speak for yourself, I will speak for myself  ;)

I got my first job (though unofficially) when I was 14 as a librarian helper in summer time. I left my home when I was 16 y.o. to obtain a higher education. My second official job was a kindergarten teacher during summer vacation when I was 18. A nanny and I were responsible for health and life of 12 3-4 y.o. children. I met my X when I was 18 and announced my family that I'm going to marry him when I was 19. I married a 33 y.o. man who had nothing after his previous marriage, only his talent and 2 jobs (a music teacher at a college and in the evening time a musician at the restaurants).   My X and I started our life in small rented  apartment that was just 12 square meters. I was 20 when I gave birth to our son, his only child.  All my relatives lived in another city, 4 hours from us. Late the X got his third job as an Art director of a night club and producer. During our living together we got our own apartment. I was working as a school teacher and during summer vacations I was working as a deputy of chief of a summer camps for children, and along  with the chief I was responsible for life and health of 100-300 children. I received my higher educations as a theatrical producer, manager and a teacher of special theatrical subjects and the humanities. I left my job as a school teacher, because it did  not pay so much and got job as a manager of the Advertisement agency and during that time I also received an additional professional education as an inspector of a personnel department taking the evening classes at the Center of additional professional education at the Department of Labor of Regional Administration. I received a job at the one of the District Administrations as a chief of a personnel department, and later I was invited to take the position of a chief administrator of the The State theater, and after one year working at the theater I was appointed to a position of the deputy director-general of the State theater (the beloved place of our Governor for his receptions). To be more correct I was a commercial director and the second person after my boss who had rights to sign any administrative and financial documents and had the same responsibility as my boss. To that time I was 30 y.o.

In spite of the divorce with my X after 13 years together I have never regretted that I married him, a man with whom I got a life tenacity, I have never regretted that I gave birth to our son when I was so young, and I have no regrets about the divorce. I have never thought about that years as about a loss and stunted growth.  Looking back at that years I have no desire to change anything that was in the past.  :) And I'm sure there are many women (including some of my friends) who have had a life expirience similar to me with no regrets about the past ;)

If they would be allowed to spend equal time and effor on their visual presentation, there would not be any difference.

You might want to put some thicker glasses on the pooch.  ;)

The one place where you can critique the ladies is if they tryout for the city's pro sports team cheer squad. I'll try and leave it at that and not be any more of a jackass than necessary. But one city has toned beautiful in shape women and Des Moines has..... well most are a little short and chunky to be a cheerleader (yes I know its mean and unfair and I'm not calling them fat... they aren't... but for PRO CHEERLEADERS!!!! the standards are raised). Estonia kicks Iowa's fat ass. Sorry its just true. Don't like it. Find a stairmaster or something. That and you can't teach height.

Top.  Women from the FSU are not better looking than American women as far as facial features go. We all come from basically the same gene pool. But their bodys, now that is a different story. They also know how to show what beauty they have better than American women by the way they dress and the makeup they use.

After a few more trips you will become like many of us here and have totally ruined yourself when it comes to American women.
All I have to do is go to a local bar and gaze out at the dance floor to know why I go to the FSU. My God! It looks like a rhino fest.

I agree with you as far as midwestern women. They are not in nearly as good of shape as women from the west coast or any other warmer region.

FSU women are not as tall as American women on average. But being in shape and wearing high heels makes them appear that way.

I'm not backing this up with any numbers but I have to disagree with this a little. At least in the baltics. They had some tall women there. I don't know about Russia or Ukraine (or Romania or Bulgaria two countries I'm interested in) but the Baltics have tall folks. Its the land of Sabonis man. Lots of tall eastern euros and russians end up in the NBA. Probably because they are tall, skilled, and playing the sport is cheap. Just need shoes, a ball, and a hoop.

That is exactly what I noticed comparing the pictures. The guy who makes the outfit for the Iowa team should be fired.
Give the Iowa girls the same tools and preparation of the Estonian, and they will be much closer in comparison.

Probably true about the differences in outfits. But the risque things they wear at games in Eastern Europe would never fly for Iowa family entertainment at games here. But if we are going to be honest here better outfits and practice aren't really  going to make up for differences in skill, ability, talent, grace, etc. They aren't going to replace bellys with tone. Maybe those cheerleaders could look better in the right outfit and have better routines but my point is still very valid.

A difference from Estonian girls and other FSU girls is I believe they have some Scandianvian roots as well. I'm just going to put it out there. It is a broad generalization but they "in general" are just a lot more attractive. They put effort into their bodies and their dress. They walk differently. They even act differently in some ways. At first they are very stand-off(ish) which is WAY different from being an Iowa girl who looks decent so she has her nose in the air thinking she is all that and a bag a chips. I've dated those girls. It was not fun for me.

You're sooooo right, all American cheerleaders are fat and ugly. Why, just look at these pathetic ones:

Wienerin,

Of course it is in your opinion.

You speak for yourself, I will speak for myself  ;)

I got my first job (though unofficially) when I was 14 as a librarian helper in summer time. I left my home when I was 16 y.o. to obtain a higher education.

All this is highly commendable, and I won't argue with you or post my achievements and accomplishments, etc. As I wrote - that was MY opinion, and I also wrote that "for the most" - and as far as I've been able to observe...

BTW - I've also started working when I was just past 14 - as a laboratory technician or nurse assistant in a pediatric Medical School clinic. Officially.

If you do not consider it a loss, when a young girl with years of young pursuits before her - wonderful college years, hiking and white-water boating, sports, travel, flirting, etc. let alone career - with ease, unencumbered by other compelling duties, either loses this completely, or has to put lots more effort into keeping up with her collegues, - it's you point of view.

I didn't do badly, and certainly I do not have any regrets about my sons, but if I could do all of this differently, I would - and I would've achieved more than I did.

Quote

You've read something in my words that was never there - as you always do for some reason. You do not have to prove anything to me, and vice versa... We lived in different times, different places, we were and remain very different people with widely divergent values and goals. Why do you feel the need to argue with me? What is there to argue about?

(only do not, please, offer me any books to re4ad or any newspaper articles to look at :))

In many ways, I was fortunate to have met my wife at the perfect moment in her life. She had had her wonderful college years, she had traveled (family in Germany, studies in St. Petersburg), she had succeeded in getting the job she had aspired to get when a student. In other words, she had done all that she had hoped to do just before meeting me. This contrasts with some of her friends who regretted having married an/or had children too early.
