An American in Kharkov
« on: November 08, 2005, 04:42:41 AM »
I'm an American in Kharkov on a Fulbright fellowship to research and write about MOBs and the men who seek them out. I'm interesting in talking to American/western men who come to Kharkov to tour the marriage agencies and meet the ladies. I'm no ideologue, so know I simply want to learn who is using this service and why. I'd appreciate whatever time you could spare. Contact me by email and tell me when you're coming to Kharkov; I'll send my cell-phone number in return. I'm sure some of your time will be spent doing other things, but I know how difficult it can be finding a place to eat and a decent cup of coffee in a foreign country, especially if you don't speak the language. I speak enough Russian to get around, and would be glad to meet for a cup of coffee to talk. To learn more about me and my project, visit the blog I've set up about MOBs. It has information on K1]http://everybodyiloveyou.blogspot.com/2005/08/k1-fiancee-visas-statistical-breakdown.html]K1 visas [/url]and other news and articles, especially in the early archives.
Lived in Kharkov, Ukraine 2005-2006. Great city.

Hi there,

If you're in Kharkov (or Kharkiv) you might want to meet up with my colleague Terry from North Carolina who's there working on an econdev proposal. I'm sure he'll be able to offer you a lot of interesting MOB info, plus one or two other things...

I'll PM his cellphone if you're interested

Regards,

Jeff

Hey Jeff, ole Terry is quite a trip isn't he? How's he doing? I only spoken to him briefly in the fall as we were going different directions at the time.

The stories he can tell in an hour or two are quite interesting.

Hi Jack,

Some good and some bad. Started up a dialogue with a major NGO in the childcare area with a view to collaborating on his econdev proposal.

Lost some funds helping a fellow Brit who said he wanted to sell his wife's apartment but wouldn't let us see inside or out. We wasted a lot of time with this guy giving us the runaround trying to back out of any commitment, whilst paying out for legal work.

One thing I've noticed about anybody doing a study on the MOB business, is when its done and published it always makes the men out to be losers and the women out to be green card getting gold diggers, I have yet to see a published report on the success and the fun and adventure, which this endeavor has to offer. does it seem like that to anyone else?

Your Mom is so dumb that she tried to minimize a 12 variable function to a minimal sum of products expression using a karnaugh map instead of the Quine-McCluskey Algorithm.
