Going To A Concert.
« on: April 10, 2009, 05:58:53 AM »
Hello Ladies.

Marina and I are going to a concert on the 28th of this month in Miami.

I am curious, have any of you (especially Blues Fairy) ever heard this ladies music?

"KpucmuHa Op6akaumehttp://www.biletmiami.com/

My wife says she lives here locally, in N. Miami.

I am looking forward to seeing the show!

Any comments or thoughts?

Thanks, GOB

Orbakaite is the daughter of Soviet pop legend Alla Pugacheva.  The mother had a great voice and personality but the daughter is rather mediocre, yet with her famous parent's support she built a successful pop show career and even managed to develop her nonexistent voice into something more or less audible.  Some of the tunes she performs are very catchy and the supporting dance show should be impressive.

It will be interesting to hear your impressions, particularly if you manage to discern whether she sings herself or to a phonogram (used to be common among Russian pop stars but Moscow Mayor Luzhkov cracked down on them and issued a law forbidding this at state-sponsored events.  :D)

BF, I'm puzzled by that term :-\:

Quote
Phonogram may refer to -
Phonogram (comic), a comic book by Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie
Phonogram (linguistics), a group of words which share the same letter combination associated with a sound
Phonogram Records, a 1960s music label, which merged with Polydor in 1972
Phonogram (audio recording technology), the recording medium used by the phonograph
Sound recording copyright symbol

Do you mean she may fake singing and  use playback 8)?

Sorry I guess I just used the Russian word фонограмма unthinkingly.  I meant lip-synching to a pre-recorded track, fake singing.

I would listen to all the cute things you'd say if you only got to sleep in 2- to 4-hour stretches for 3 months.  ;)

Well Ladies.....Marina and I went to the concert last night.

I thought it was very good. 8)

KpucmuHa Op6akaume performed for over 2 hours with only a 10 minute break.

There was one "back up" singer that was also very good (I don't know her name).

I have enclosed some photos of my adventure last night.  ;D

I will definitely keep an eye out for the next Russian concert coming to our area!!

Marina and I are going to another Russian concert (October 25th).

This time the entertainer is:  Ирина Александровна Аллегрова (IRINA ALLEGROVA)

My wife likes her a lot!

She is usually on TV (Russian Channel) every New Years.

I will try to do better on the picture taking this time.  8)

I almost forgot, Marina and I went to a concert this past Saturday night at the BankAtlantic Center.

We saw Depeche Mode.

Although the group isn't Russian, they are still very popular in the FSU and Europe.

I remember hearing their music a lot (almost 6 years ago) when I started my travels to the FSU.
