Scammer or not?
« on: April 14, 2009, 10:35:52 AM »
I have written about 10 letters to a girl from Elena's Models...she hasn't said she is head over heels in love with me, hasn't asked me for money, and we have discussed me coming to visit...HOWEVER, I have tried to get a phone number to call her but she says her cell phone is broken...also I just asked for her mailing address but she declined to give it to me saying she would be insulted if I were to send her a gift!? (I would like to send her some flowers on her birthday in a couple of weeks and hopefully get a picture) What do you think? Scammer or not?

Why do you worry?

Hopefully you are writing more than 1 lady at this point. Keep writing and asking questions.

Next letter ask her why she would be insulted if you sent a gift. Dont send anything yet.

Wanting to send a gift after 10 letters might come off as a little desperate. Women can smell this a mile away.

Too early to tell. Cell phones can break, however if she is interested in you she would want to find a wya to talk to you.
Sounds not like a scammer, but a girl who is not really interested in you.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Forget the gift. Ask for a number where she can be reached so that you can speak on the phone. If she is interested in you, she'll find one. Unless she is a sure enough village girl she knows where a phone is that she is able to speak with you on. Should she continue that line, move on to another woman. You are wasting your time.

Hello HeelBilly.

If there is one thing I know about the Russian ladies I have ever come in contact with......they love flowers and they love to talk.  ;D

Something is probably wrong here.  :-\

Continue if you want, BUT...I would move on.

Good Luck!

Cell phones do break and money may be tight delaying it's replacement...

Bashfullness over an address???  Maybe, but it's a little fishy to me.

My basic approach was to move on quickly when writing to many women and whittle the "penfriends" down as quickly as possible.  Why bother writing to someone who makes life more complicated rather than more enjoyable.

Whilst he excuses may be true, you should have nothing emotional invested in this friendship yet - therefore you should simply be looking for something enjoyable, comfortable and relaxed.  If you need to post a question like this here, it's not relaxed.

Move on!

I cannot believe she has no way to receive a phone call - friends, family, landlines, etc.

Then how about Skype, ICQ, YIM, AIM, etc.?

As for the mailing address and rejection of flowers, that says to me she isn't serious at all.

At the least she should have more forthright explanations such as she is screening you more before trusting you with that information.

Move on!
Pick and choose carefully among the advice offered and consider the source carefully. PM, Skype or email if you care to chat or discuss

Ideas about you do not leave my head!
These feelings, they very warm, and in also cool time which it is a little, They as the moon on dark the evening sky. If you have time, look at it,
And you will understand all depth of my feelings. In us today half of moon in the sky.
One half from this you. This half is captured in easy and a heat,
And other half from this I. Dark and cold, disappearing in itself secret. Stars around it are people who surround us.
In them the heap has placed, and in me one, and I cannot it to you. You know, very good person seems to me, that you, and I can be opened with you. You fine, sensitive, kind, you deserve the most good.

Both I shall read, and I shall write to you! I wished to find people similar to my soul.

Do not leave me, and I shall not leave you. While we should strengthen attitudes! I think, that we shall have fine time! Walks, entertainments, viewing of films, Suppers at candles alone!
From it in me to be transformed it a head!
To my biggest disappointment my time has expired, also I should finish this letter!

Likely scammer.  If she's real, she's a flake.  Move on.

Just my own personal thoughts here... If it reads like bad poetry...it is bad poetry!

Definitely a good idea to move on.

What do you think? Scammer or not?

She doesn't want her boyfriend answering when you call :)
