i made a website for my dad http://www.aisb.ru/ but i kinda suck at graphics, so no laughing :P
It's simple and clean, not bad at all ;). Fancy graphics may be suitable for some types of websites, not all. Always remember who the viewers may be, and tailor accordingly.

Aloe, I notice there are a lot of I's and very few we's in your initial post.  I, too, have been an "I" most of my conscious life ;D and I totally relate to how daunting it is to imagine yourself in an alien environment with no anchors except your fiance, whom you, honestly speaking, don't really know that well just yet.  You're still thinking in the "I" mode and will do so for a while.  But I assure you, when the reality of "we" sets in, when you feel that you are part of a team (if your man is supportive and responsible), the fear will go away.  Don't sweat about the two foreign tongues - learning a language is easy when you're in the language environment, and you will have a lot of fun.  DO focus on building a strong relationship with your husband; DO take your marriage seriously and practice emotional intelligence for a solid foundation.  You'll be fine.

I/O gives great advice about walking; when I arrived to the States I used to walk 2-3 hours every day (even up to the last month of my pregnancy) and I agree, it does clear the head very well.

it would be hard to say "we" in context of moving and having to learn new languages and adjust to the culture, since my fiance doesn't need to do any of it :) But i get your point, and yes, he is wonderful and supportive, and we had a talk and i feel much better now. I asked him if he feels worried at all about the upcoming change in his life, and he said no :D
I just looked at my original post and it looks like a lot of complaining, i guess i was just too worried in the morning :)

Trust me, he will be spending a lot of time helping you learn your new languages if he is a good husband. Though my wife was studying English in the mornings, I would be spending most of my evenings going over what she had studied and helping her understand the material being covered. Also, when you go through culture shock (though you might be one of those lucky ones who does not experience it too badly), trust me, your husband will be bearing the brunt of it  :-X He will be sharing in the experience whether he wants to or not  ;)

Aloe, take a very deep breath...let it out and relax.

Everything will be fine. Every country has it's ulta-nationalists, stay away from those types of forums. They will pollute your experience. You are going to meet very warm, genuinely nice people. They will oprn their arms and welcome you. All the percieved problems will either fade away or be resolved.
You and your fiance will build a future. You will find your career path or it will find you. Your life is your adventure, embrace it and live it fully...

Now be at peace and love the man you've chosen.
Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else :)

i guess in that sentence the forum name is easy to misinterpret, i meant forum of russians who live in belgium, russians writing about belgium, NOT belgians writing about russians :D maybe they are just being negative haha.
Misha, i'm not sure if i should bother him with my stuff, he comes home from work tired, why make him even more tired making him study with me lol. I guess we'll see how it goes.
I do love the man, just unsure of the country, that's all :P

Aloe, more than likely he is only working 39 hours a week according to Belgium law.  With the 25 vacation days and 20 plus holidays.  He will never be tired to help.   :D

Belgium is very employee friendly.

he works during lunch hour and 1 or 2 hours overtime every day, cuz it's a tiny company, it's just his boss, 1 more employee and him, and the other guys stay late, and he doesn't get paid for overtime either, but he's on 6 month trial period and getting married, so have to make a good impression :P

so iůve been here for like a week now. everything is great so far, except this damn keyboard with weird letter layout. haha. this is first time im alone and now i have to cleqn up this apartment that has never been cleaned before ever (he moved in in here right before i came over) and we didnt have bqsic stuff like washing machine and couch but its been so great being together, im very happy, he cooked pancakes for me yesterday :D and we can eat breakfast on our huge sunny terrace every day, in this great apt, to rent an apt like this in moscow would cost at least like 2-3k bucks a month but here its many times cheaper, i rly like it; and our town is so tiny and super cute, it has this ancient feel, if it wasnt for cars, u could easily think you are in middle ages. and there are bicycle roads everywhere and many ppl on bicycles thqts so cool, i can ride a bicycle without being afraid for my life haha. it is somewhat bothersome that i dont understand whats being said around me but itůs been ok

uh oh and we are married now too, that was scary :D i felt scared at first, but now im very happy, i love him so much but it was a very big change for me; we had like almost all his family about 15-16 people at our wedding and they all spoke mostly dutch i felt like a decoration at our wedding dinner lol, and the ceremony was mostly in dutch too, such a pity, the mayor (he was marrying us) made a lot of jokes and everyone was laughing all the time except me lol;

Aloe welcome to Belgium and congrats on your wedding.
I hope you will be happy for a very long time.

I agree that apartments (in houses in the long run  ;)) are relatively cheap.
So now you will have to start learning that strange language. :)
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

As long as they don't try to hang you on the front door, you are OK   ;)

Congratulations, dear Aloe!

You'll learn to type blindfolded on that weired keyboard pretty quick, trust me.    ;)

Congratulations ALOE!!

Thank you for coming back to RWD and giving us an update.  :)

Is it possible for you to post a picture?

Please tell us more about Belgium (architecture, streets, stores, etc.)

I am curious about your impressions.

I have never been over to that neck of the woods.  8)

They are fast! That is a good sign, and it seems you will not have a problem staying here. If you are missing Russian food (later on) or want to show your husband Russian food and want some addresses to get pelmeni then PM me.
