Of all the songs I play for my sweetie, this is her #1  requested song.
A very easy tune to play. Island bruddah Jack Johnson's cover of Lennon's immortal *Imagine*, from his album 'The Mango Tree'. Forever pure...

This is his cover for McCartney's silly Rocky Racoon.

LEONARDO LEO
(1694-1744, Neapolitan school)

After 50+ years of delving into classical music, I still can come across some quite respectable but hitherto unknown to me composers :o. Tonight I attended a concert by a baroque ensemble - where my choirmistress is the leading violin - at San Calimero, a lovely small Romanic church in central Milan dating from the 5th century but almost completely rebuilt in 1882:

The program included this Sinfonia concertante per violoncello, archi e basso continuo (1737), already echoing what Vivaldi wrote 70+ years later:

A buddy sent me a youtube of an oldie and then I bumped into a couple of songs that sent me reeling back 40 some years.

These two songs came out in the early 70s and were the antithesis of the rock genre of the time. However, they were ingrained in me so deeply that still today they elicit some response when I listen to them.

I think you will be able to understand why by listening to them.

When I saw the title Diary, I thought you might mean this :):

But maybe you're too young for it (debut single in 1958, no. 14 on the Billboard chart) :D.

Some time since I last heard this masterpiece, Beethoven's Triple Concerto for piano, violin and cello in C major Op.56, here performed by a star cast: Richter, Oistrakh, Rostropovich and the Berliner Philharmoniker conducted by Karajan. Here's the 1st part of its last movement, Rondo alla polacca:

Beethoven must have like this unusual combination of soloists because he later produced the Fantasy in C minor for Piano, Chorus, and Orchestra, Op. 80:

After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten
